Hello AFN Family!!! It has Been a while since I posted a journal due to sickness and a unexpected remodel of our home. Hard to get a grow going while people are in and out of the house. First off, I want to give a shout out to my pal GoAuto6 for hooking me up on some beans. They are a stinky cheese/dragon cross and are regular beans. I normally do only fem beans and don't have the time or space to tier them to weed out the males, so there will be 2 seeds to a pot until sex can be established. I chose the Northern Lights Blue because I have read good things about her.
The set up is as follows:
Tent 4x4x7- Growlab 120
Medium-ProMix HP with 4g. per gallon of Aluminum Sulfate to bring down the PH(ProMix comes at a 7ph out of the bag, 4g. of Aluminum Sulfate will bring it down to 6.2-6.3 amended with 10% perlite. Looks like frequent waterings and feed on this run!!!
Lights-Dual(2) Solar Storm 400's LED
Pots-5 gallon EZ roots felt pots with plastic cage
Nutes- Advanced Nutrients Lineup(TaNg's feed schedual) with some H&G roots excellerator and have added AN Hammerhead for a PK boost in flower.
I now have an Accurate 8 soil ph tester along with a newish pen, so I am expecting good things with this grow. I am excited, because I have never had a cheese strain before!! Nothing to see yet, beans are soaking and I will get pics up of the setup tomorrow. :peace: for now, briman

Great looking lady!!! Looks like she likes to stretch in pre-flower! I will try to get her to reach for the LED. Temps are steady @ 77* and humidity is at 45% and rising. Might have to throw in a wet towel to get it to come a bit.
My germ method is as follows:
I have a small(Secret Jardin) propagation tent with a heat mat on the bottom, set at 75* I put 2 shot glasses directly on the heat mat with 3/4 full of distilled water and 1 drop of H&G root excellerator and let it set for about a hour or two. I then dropped 4 Cheesus Dragons and 5 Northern Lights Blue into the shot glasses. In 24 hours, all seeds have a 1/4-1/2 inch tap root already showing. I have had great luck with this method. I took a cap to a ballpoint pen(Bic) and gently dump the seeds out into my hand with a nitrile glove(I dont like to touch the seeds due to oils and the such), let the water drain through my fingers and gently use the pen cap to make a small hole just under the surface. I flip the cap around and use the cap finger to gently place the seed, tap down and then I gently use the pen cap to pull some soil over the hole. Call me anal, but it works for me. The only time I have not had seeds come up with this method, is if I made the hole too deep. I have 1 LED on at this time, and will fire up the other in a few weeks when the plants hit their 2-3 node. Nothing to see yet...but the beans have split and shown the tap. Into the final 5 gallon EZ Root Pots.(if you havent seen the EZ Roots, here is a link. I like em. The greatness of a smart pot with a plastic cage for protection when moving and the are easier to move with something to grab on to. Best of both worlds!!! Peace-briman

We will call today day 1. 2 of the NLB are up, but the rest are being shy, or not poppin the surface. No Cheesus showing as of yet. I might have had the soil too wet when I dropped them into the final containers, but I'll give em another day to show or I will replant. I dropped 2 more NLB and 6 more Cheesus into shot glasses last night, and will put them into soil tomorrow if nothing else shows. But, I might have to drop a few into pots on the back deck if I get some more action in the current pots. Posting pics tonight.

Subbed up for this one, my friend! "Munch..munch..munch

Hey briman :tiphat: Good to see you've got another grow starting. I know you'll love the NLB, I've still got an oz or so left of mine which has been curing for 4 months now and just keeps getting better :smoke: I'll be following along to see how this turns out, best of luck bro.
