Hey all. Im currently growing 1 speed devil #2 with cfls.

First and foremost. The Strain:

Our first and feminised auto-flowering variety. First genetic evolution of Speed Devil, developed during the 2009-2010 seasons. All plants start flowering from the fourth true leaf pair about, regardless of photoperiod and season.

In this second version of Speed Devil has continued the rapid flowering of its previous version, super-fast produces plants that are ready for harvest with aromatic resinous buds, ripe and perfectly formed, just 60 days after seed germination.

In Speed Devil # 2 has increased the average size of plants which stands at 70-80 cm.Another feature of this version is that it has substantially increased the formation of lateral branches, which produce heavy buds and also increase production. In this version we also found increased formation of crystals of resin with a more intense aroma, sweet and musky tones reminiscent of yeast and cheese.

General Features:

Autoflowering: 100%
THC: 15% CBD: 1,1% CBN: 0,5%
Indoor Yield: 400-500 gr/m2
Outdoor Yield: 20-60 gr/plant
Indoor Blooming: 5 weeks.
Outdoor Harvest: 2 months from germination.
Height: 70 - 80 cm.

The Lights: Fairly simple, cheap. Im well aware of the capabilities of cfls and i know i'd probably be better off getting an HID but we'll save that for a later grow ;]. I currently have 10 23 watt CFL's for a total of 230 watts.. all 2700k. 1600 lumens each and a total of 16,000. Im sure it's overkill for a single plant but i've always read more is better ;]

Pictures soon to come!

As you can see from the pictures it isnt the most professional of setups. A tad creative though.

Started on 12/20/2011

Im growing in a 12 inch pot with regular potting mix. No nutrients to start with except a few egg shells i crushed and added to the top of the soil. Because it's flowering i started botanicare bloom nutrients at a 1/4 strength. A friend gave me some good advice about when to use nutrients...he said alternate waterings between nutrient water and regular water. Regular water to flush the roots for clean intake on the next nutrient watering. Now im not sure if thats true but it sounded good..so! im doing it. lol O! and yea as you can see my cfl's are quite close..i'd say within 2 inches. The burn marks are from a one of the lights that fell on top of the plant. Also burned a bud site :/. Noob mistake :X . Though i check it every day and im able to raise/lower/turn my lights accordingly.

Also as you can see in the pictures...i started LSTing about a week ago. Never done it before. As i've read it stands for low stress testing. It also helps to get more light to the plants. So im not sure if i should tighten up the strings after the plant as gotten used to it...or maybe let it loose?

I'll update every week with pictures and i can PROMISE i will stick this one out to the end with a full report. Except a smoke report :/ my job hair tests for full time annnnd i have to be clean for another 4 months atleast...perhaps my roomie wouldn't mind being a guinee pig? lol

Another side note. I would love and greatly except all and any criticism/advice. First time poster long time reader on auto.net. So i hope this grow to be a very informational one.

Thanks guys
--Broly

o and if the leaves look a lil droopy..it's because the lights had been off for 4 hours and i had just taken it out after the lights came on.

ok here we are 1 week later. I Changed up and tightened some of the strings. Still doing the nute-flush-nute watering method. A tad bit of burn , though its very minimal. I think for cfls she is coming along just fine. :)

Quick question about LSTing and forgive me for being lazy and not researching it more but wouldn't one think that because lsting puts stress on the branches that some of the plants energy would be diverted "back" into vegetative growth? Instead of flowering?

Wondering if i should just stop with the bondage ;)

Small update. Stopped with the lst after reading about how they're not really recommended for autos...or at least ones as small as mine.

I also debated on getting a small 150 watt HPS with tempered glass...but then decided not 2. Im sure the heat would be the same..maybe less. but they're prolly wouldn't be any big difference in lumens and although the light would be better....as far as money goes..i can buy 23 watt 2700k CFLs for 1.19 a piece. Hell i could change out those CFLs every grow and still only spend 12 bucks. I just dont see the benefit when comparing price and results. Ofcourse this IS my first cfl grow...so i guess i cant REALLY say anything until i've cropped.

Not sure if anyone is reading this...ik these cfl grows have been done a million times but god damn it it's my CFL grow!!:toke:

hi broly , your plant is looking real nice mate:thumbs:. dont worry about lst'ing. it will be benificial to your plant, especially when using cfl's. i and several other, cfl and non cfl,
growers on the site use lst on a regular basis. the more light you can get to the lower and inner buds , the better. as long as you are gentle and dont force her your plant will not suffer any neg effects.:toke:

Thanks boomer! and yea i would totally tie her back up again but well to be honest i'm just too darn lazy to tie every branch up again.lol I believe she's only got another 3 weeks tops before chop anyways. I will deff keep the LSTing all the way through for my next grow.

Another week. Same story. Stopped LSTing.
New feeding method is Nutrient feed, nutrient feed, flush, nutrient feed, nutrient feed.

Random side question. I know there are plenty of cfl grows around but most of the ones i found with similar lighting stopped posting and didnt give an end result...was wondering if anyone knows of a similar 230 watt CFL single plant auto grow. Would be cool to see another grow with 23 watt bulbs. I read on another forum some where that the 23 watts have the best lumen per watt ratio.

Ok, just thought id pop in and say im gonna save the pics for next week...i know i know...so many of you have been DIEING to see the crazy changes lmao...it's all in good fun ;) but yea pics on the 24th!

I'd also like to say if there is anyone on here that is a firm believer or curious about the TRUE power of cfls...check out this guy sirsly on youtube..his CFL grows are masterful..and although admitting to being not as good as hps..he does give the HID a run for its money.

thats all ya'll. Live Long and Prosper. _\\ //
