Hi all!

I have a couple of pineapple kush auto fems in FFOF under CFLs. They are on day #64 from seed. I've been feeding FF Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom, and CALiMAGic for roughly one month, and they were last fed on Sunday 3/15.

Everything has been going smoothly until this morning. One of the plants is developing brown spots. Here are some pics:

It's not widespread at this point, but should I worry? Is it too late to foliar feed some cal mag (if cal mag def is even what we're looking at)? Is it weird that it's only on one of the two plants that are in the exact same conditions?

You guys were superstars helping me through my first grow!!! Thanks in advance for any advice you can give on this one!

Cheers :tiphat:

:stylez rasta smoke: hey Jenn-ay! ..nice looking girlie you got there- :d5:..... spots are looking like a wee bit of Ca defc., and those lowers- ditto for Mg,...which I know peeves you since you've been adding CaMg supp's already-- Join the club! :slaps:LOL!... I dunno why this happens on occasion, some girls are just CaMg hogs, and others right next to them aren't; pheno' variations can be behind this, as is the simple fact that each pot becomes it's own little ecosystem, so there's no assuming conditions are identical in another tent-mate's!... others find pH issue behind it, but no sign of that here that I can see,... do you have a reading for me, just in case? Did I harp on about getting an Accurate 8 soil pH probe yet? Beats the run-off method for accuracy hands down,... no need for a foliar, symptoms are so mild, ain't worth the mold risk! Are you giving full strength dosage on the CaMg? if not, step it up,... :Sharing One:

W, my brother!!! I was hoping to hear from you. I trust you've been well since last my last go round here at AFN. Thanks so much for stepping up to help:grat:

Yes, I got the Accurate 8. Just checked the soil in my problem child, and it registers 6.8. However, being a creature of habit, I still check the runoff religiously. I've been pH upping my nute solution, and I still get wicked acidic runoff. My feeding on Sunday came out at like 5. Yes, I'm still using strips for my liquid pH readings :horse:

As for the supplemental cal/mag, I'm at full strength: 2 tsp in 2 gal H2O. What do you think about adding blackstrap? What do you think about any of this?

:peace:
Your pal,
Jenn-ay

P.S. I so wish people would call me that in my real life

:roflcry:-- even while doing it in a Forrest Gump voice? ...you could freak peeps out a little by pronouncing it that way when you introduce yourself,... :wiz: LOL!
... ah! shweeet,...A8 is a fine tool! That, is what I'd listen too, not the run-off and test strips! Getting 6.8 on the probe, and 5.0 on run-off is just plain weird,...If it was really 5.0 or worse in there, your plant would be looking hammered!...I believe error is getting magnified by what's inherent in the method (not you so much, but the whole methodology and other sources of potential error), and limitations of the test strips,... You do need to religiously clean the probe with that soft pad they provided before every use, to keep the metal surfaces nice and clean for accurate readings,... what I like about the probe is that you can test at different depths,... Mid-pot is fine, but going down to the lower 1/4 on occasion to see if there's a build-up issue starting there is wise,...(stay well away from the center tap root!)... that moisture meter is a great feature too! ........... :horse:<-- :WTF: color me twisted, but this one never gets old!! :WTF: ....... I'm familiar with the GH/GO brand Ca-Mg supp's; the CALi' /G. Hydroponics version is the fully synthetic/hydroponic formulation,.. the CaMg+/G. Organics is a more naturally derived product...both are great, so no worries, but a heads up, true of all of these products: they may have different base ingredients; the GH has Ca carbonate + Mg nitrate... GO is Ca+ Mg carbonates, in a fermented sugar base (molasses derived I think)... note that the GH has nitrate-N in it, the other doesn't... not an issue generally, just be aware of these differences and what that means to the grower... a little N 1-0-0 is not a bad thing at all during bloom, but if one is keeping account of all N sources, it should be noted; also since there's only Calcium carbonate in the GH formula, it has less of the pH buffering carbonates in it-- again, not a bad thing, just a notable difference if one is watching their inputs of carbonates for buffering,... I tend to like the GO formula better for this, and because of the sugar base it's in,... That lecture said- :slaps:-- I'd start with 1tsp/qt (or a fat 1T/gal) molasses to boost things a bit,... there's Ca, Mg, K even a little Fe in there, and the soil herd will love the sugar rush, which in turn will make the girlie happy too! :brow: try a couple doses in a week, then once a week for a treat of sorts until cleansing time comes, preharvest,....
>> thanks Jenn-ay :pighug:..happy to help! ...truth is, I've been more scarce these days,...been something of a rough year at home, and time here is more limited,...I can't see/do a 1/3 of all I really want too! ....

i used ph test strips when i first started to grow.now that i have a ph pen i realize that test strips are only acurate to +/- 1.0.in short a waste of 99p

Of course, it would have to be in the Forrest Gump voice! Guess you'll have to color me twisted, too :twist: And also, I suppose I'm going to have to start calling you "Doc" instead of "W". That chemistry lesson; "Noo..you Joking..?"
Break it down for me: should I carry on with the Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom substituting blackstrap for CALiMAGic? I'm due to just plain water on my next go round, probably on Friday. Do I want to add the blackstrap then or wait 'til proper feeding time? If I'm adding, should I go with the full T/gal you suggested?
Finally, I'm so sorry things have been a little shaky for you lately. Sending much love and good karma your way, my bro. You deserve it :pighug:

Thanks again, and :peace:

P.S. I'm headed out to get some calibration solution for my pH pen right now! Thanks again, guys :tiphat:

...yup, keep on your Tiger and BB (check the NPK on that; notice how mild it is? I love BB, but I treat it like a supplement because of it's mildness; add it every time),... you can do both CaMg and molasses for a round or two (recall, above),... your case is mild, so no drastic measure need be taken,... go ahead and add the molasses to your water tomorrow ..... two other items for meters: most meters need a storage soln. too, just a few drops into the cap, so check your instruction manual and see what they say; mine has a tiny sponge at the base; it's usually a KCl soln., and helps preserve the delicate parts,... make sure you rinse with RO/DI water and shake the extra off before storing again,... a cleaning solution will be needed eventually, especially if you're testing mucky solutions,.. they can film up on that little glass bulb thing and interfere with accuracy,....

:hug:Thanks for the L&K, Jenn-ay! Check ya later,...
