Browning leaf tips

I have been a member of a few different forums and this is by far the best! When it comes to knowledge, talent and friendliness this place is the standard for how an online community should operate.

I would come over for a Harvest party for sure lol :) Or everyone could come to my house because it is LEGAL here yaaaaay I love Colorado. I hope someday soon everyone will be able to say the same thing

:smoke:(Forrest Gump)...Hi,.. Jenn-ay! Your girls look fab', luvie, well done! Yup, looks like the Brimster and D'CO have got you covered and clued-- :d5: Thanks dewds!- "AFN smoke out"...Jen, it's a mild case, so no need to flush I think,... this, in itself, is something of a stressor,... just skip a couple feed rounds, water only, maybe a taste of molasses or honey to get those soil 'crobes busier (1T/gal), which in turn will have them temporarily take up those some of the extra nutes,... those beauties are getting close to done, and their needs for amounts of nute's is dwindling now,... at this stage, more K is better than more P, so what feeding you do, angle for something that is K heavy, not P heavy,...they still need some P, but K get's top billing at this stage,...preferably! Balanced would be fine too,....*** ...those yellowing fans are perfectly normal at this point; better to have the girls on the hungry side than stuffed! That's the fans' job now,... give it up to the buds, and stimulate the final ripening...In fact, the girls look rather green, but that could be the camera, or just the strains' characteristics,... what N inputs are going in right now? .... the girls ideally should finish with a good 7-10 days of nothing but water-- so called cleansing period (not flushing),... I see some pistils maturing,.. have you scoped the trich's? I'm guessing they're mostly milky now, some clear,...gettin' close, baby!!

** Oh! I missed it earlier-- don't continue with both Ca-Mg and molasses anymore,... potentially too much of a good thing! Personally, I'd go with just a little Ca-Mg (you're well past any defc. dangers for this now), and honey for a sugar rush,... no nute's in honey! :woohoo:--looking damn good Jenn-ay! If you have any harvest questions, post up at the LHT,... we wanna see! :d5:  :goodluck:

The way the leaf tips are curling up could be an early indicator of a possible phosphorus deficiency. Keep an eye and if the leaf edges also start to go brown, then it's a lack of P and not overfeeding. At this stage of your grow FF recommends feeding a combination of Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom. Big Bloom alone has a very low level of P and without the added Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom, you may not be giving them enough P.

Thanks, fellas! I'm a little confused tho. More P or more K? Here's what I've been doing the last couple of weeks:

Watering pretty much every 4 days when the soil seems dry and the pots are light. One watering I'll use 1/2 dose of Tiger Bloom, full dose Big Bloom, full dose CALiMAGic and a TBSP of BSM per gallon of pH'd H2O. The next watering I'll use full dose of Big Bloom and TBSP of BSM. Repeat….

My last watering was 2 days ago (lighter nutes). I'm not seeing any browning of the leaf edges, but the tips are definitely curling up. Any thoughts? I have Grow Big on hand, but I haven't used it since the girls started flowering.

I was hoping to start H2O only at the next watering. Wanted to have my dark period over Thanksgiving and harvest that weekend. I developed that plan for cleansing and finishing before I noticed the tip trouble, though. Too ambitious? I'm definitely getting maturing pistils (maybe 75%). I have a scope, but I can't see shit in it.

I'm cool with running a couple more rounds of nutes to stabilize things and put on some more fatness. Would that be the best tack to take? If so, just not clear on what nutes to use. Also, intrigued by the idea of using honey, W. Is there a specific kind I should look for or can I just pour it out of that little plastic bear? And, how much per gallon? I think T means tablespoon, but just want to be sure.

Thanks again, sooo much!!! :thank: Y'all kick ass :grat: Looking forward to hearing from ya!

Cheers :tiphat:
Jenny

UPDATE: Just tried using the scope again and had better luck. Looks like most of the trichs are clear :crying: I'm getting waaay too impatient.

...Jen, Muddy and I are conferring,...LOL! ...indeed, if you're that close to final cleanse, don't sweat the tips! If they're not worsening at an alarming rate, it'll be best to load up extra nute's this close to harvest,.. recall what I said about the fans! ... Again, no more Ca-Mg supp' and BSM together,.... The pistils are not the best measure of readiness,... leaves and especially the trich's are,... can you get something with about 8-10x magnification? That should be enough to see what the trich's look like--(normal progression) clear--> cloudy/milky--> amber,....And have you read Muddy's sticky article on when to harvest auto's? I can't make a call about continuing nute's until you can tell us more about the trich's appearance,... but as mentioned, you're very close! Can you get us a whole plant shot? Just to see what the other fans are doing,...***... any honey will do Jen, ...yes, T=tablespoon!

...a side thought here,...thinking about how green they still are, and what you said about letting them get on the dry side before watering,... as the soil dries, the relative concentration of the nute's in the soil goes up,..not as "dilute", right? If there's lots of nute's in there, maybe just on the edge of too much, when it dries enough, it can tip the scale over to the slightly too much side of things, and that can get you a touch of nute' burn,... This MIGHT be what's happening,...just a thought Jen,... since you plan a proper cleansing period, this will help make sure there's not extra nute's around to mess with the smoke quality,... there are soil cleaning agents, like Sledgehammer (FF), that aid in this; these surfactants help knock loose the extra nute's still bound up in the soil, so they can be scavenged by the plant, or for folks having to do a true flush, help rise crap outta there faster,...

My scope is 60x - 100x. Overkill, I think. I was able to get a decent look though, and some are cloudy-ish. Most, however, appear clear.

Here are some full body shots I just took:

Whaddya think? I'm thinking I'm going to need to go a bit longer than I had hoped.
