Indoor Buddha Seeds Purple Kush Grow Journal

What's up fwee, those are looking good man. Awesome.

If I were you, I would wait until tomorrow and get another Ph tester and then water. Unless you remember exactly how much Ph down you used per gallon when you did have a Ph tester.

Well so far I been just giving them distilled water without testing the ph....I know I know I need to get one and I will tomorrow.( suggestions of digital ones that aren't a pain to use would help) I didn't give them that much last time, less than a average sized bottled water each and that was more than a few days ago n I the leaves are startin to look thirsty so I was going to just water them tonight, but does anyone know how off my ph probably is givin I'm using distilled water from Walmart haha :bong:

Looking good. Wish I could get humidity numbers like that.

First off, I bought a Hanna ph meter and I couldn't get a steady reading..I put it in a jug of distilled water and it said 6.7 then I watered with that, tested some remaining water then I got readings higher than 7, I tested again and it was just jumping around so honestly I have no idea what the true ph was.

Another potential issue is that when calibrating my Hanna meter I dipped it in the 7.01 solution, rinsed it with my jug of distilled water ,then put it in the 4.01 solution, rinsed it a little, after that I put the meter into my jug of distilled water and Im pretty sure it still had some of the 4.01 or 7.01 solution still on it, I mistakenly used this same water to water my plants...so I think I may have basically gave them contaminated water :jaw:

As u can see the first one has some slight drooping of the leaves but I think its ok..if anyone has any info on my contamination problem please share.

Thanks for reading please comment :smokebuds:

ph of distilled water is typically between 6.5-6.6. gotta love that wally world

most people will tell you a digital ph stick is the best method of testing. i personally disagree with this. in my limited experiences the sticks require constant calibration and need to be suspended in certain solutions at certain ph's or the electrodes degrade quicker. ph drops have really been quite good to me. they require zero calibration and always work every time. good luck if you are even slightly color blind though. i find myself asking my wife to confirm what i see alot of the time lol

Hell yea man Wal-mart distilled water 97 cents a gallon :D haha but yea I agree, I actually might return my ph meter and get the drop tester as dumb as they may sound, its obviously not as accurate but much more simple in my opinion..

Sure the drops are great for clear plain water I agree. But what about after you add nutes or when testing runoff? You'll never be able to test it accurately because the color will be off. :D
And pure distilled water is 7ph. Walmarts just may not be the best or stable.

luckkily all the nutes i add only change the hue and the not the clarity. when i shine a light through it i still get a good reading on a white piece of paper. the only things that cause my readings to be inconclusive are the additions of root innoculants such as subculture-m or b. the best i can do is ph it to specification prior to adding these substances and go from there. so far, it has worked out well this way.

also, run off has not been an issue, i do the same shine a light through it on white paper and i get the proper read out still.

although i can see how this would be an issue if you are using organic feeds.

when i mix my next batch of nutes next week i will take a photo to better describe this to you all

Thats true when using the drop test the most accurate I would be able to get is seeing the color fall between 6.5-7. The guy at the hydroponic store calibrated it infront if me and I did it myself at home, I also bought both calibrating solutions. But when I test the same water I get different readings and its constantly jumping up and down I'm not sure what to do :bong:
