Old Reviews Building a Small Hydro Tank out of a Tote

Nursery 2

P3220007.JPGP3220002.JPGP3220009.JPGWell well nursery 2 is up and running. Yeahh. Got 4 holes left to fill with hatchlings as soon as they pop for me. This time around I didn't change anything exactly the same as the first one. It is rare that I get it right 100% the first time. Usually when I use it for a while I think how it would be better the next time I did one. Same construction this time, same pump, same air distribution and same drain tap.

I brought my wife juice and tea in bed. She painted my sign for me "maternity ward". It used to say clone room. I have given up cloning forever. It is femmed seed all the way for me from now on.

Of course you get pictures as who would believe anything without them so here thet are:

OK I got the second one up and running. Time to build the 3rd one. April project. Also in April I want the start up seed groth test of nutrients in three identical bubbly tanks. Same seeds maybe 4 different kinds, same lights, same temps the only thing that will be different will be the nutrients. I am going to run all three tanks at 6.0 pH. Try to keep tank temperatures down below 70 degrees F with ice. I'm gonna use Miracle-gro, Canna nuits and Advanced Nuits Spectra all at 400 PPM. I will post all the pictures at 5 weeks so we can all judge the winners. Photos and log through the test. Any bets on the winners.

This test is mostly for me so I can get the best start up nuits but I will do it as well as I can so that we all can reap the benefits. This test won't start until the 15 th of April. So speak now about anything you think should be changed before the test starts cause after it does it will be too late.

I am closing the main bubbly tank down at the end of June so this will be the last test grow of this Summer. I am open for the Fall season as to what test to run. I am thinking of running a strength test with the winner of this test. You know one tank at 300 PPM one at 400 and one at 500. I am open to what you think the Fall test whould be. My ears are wide open

I am pleased with the two totes I have made so far and I have decided to make a third. I will have to add some lights and again more CFL, 45 watt, 3000 lumen, 4100K Globe jobs.

I am going to leave room on the new light rack to add a 14,000 K to the rack so I can compare the results with the other rack that has no 14,000K bulb.

April 15, I am going to start an experiment with three different start up nuits in the three totes. Miracle Grow (24-8-16) versus AN spectra versus Canna nuits. I am going to adjust them all to 400PPM and 6.0 to 6.2 pH and grow them all together under CFL 20/4 to check out which will take babies to sex change the best. I will be using the same variety in each maybe three or four different varieties equally divided to the three totes. Yeah I'm gonna judge. If you have any input to give before the tes send it in cause once I start it will be too late to consider a change.

Did you get the pH Perfect Sensi Grow from AN? Also just wanted to comment on your pH, have you ever tried running it at 5.8?

I have always not minded if I overdue the vinigar and end up below 6.0 even down to 5.5 pH. I just find it a good moment to throw in some more cal/mag which tends to take her back up a bit. I take it you like 5.8 better or you would not have said what you did. Do you find it a much better grow than 6.0 to 6.2 my usual aim point?

I have not bothered to order any. do you think it is much better than their spectra line. Does it automatically keep id at 5,8 pH?

5.8 just always seems to be the sweet spot for most hydro growers, but a slow pH climb is always a good thing so the plants can get everything they need. I'll start out with 5.8 and let it rise up to 6.5 before I lower it back down.

It depends a lot on your water, if you have low PPM water like me when I mix my nutes it will automatically put the pH at 5.8. It won't keep it there it will drift in hydro but its a good thing. They also chelate their nutes so they are available in a wider pH scale.

I only let mine go to 6.2 before I start to lower it but we are definately in the same ball field.

Well today is a red letter day for the new totes. Two big firsts. I finished the third tote and now have 36 pre sex grow spots to go along with the 69 in the main tank. I am taking them all the way to howing sex in the totes and then transferring them to the main tank. I got a few lights to add over the third tote to get iti up to the brightness I need. Tonight I will start 20 more seeds to make sure I have enugh to populate the main tote.

The other first is the first tote had two males that I remmoved and soon I will start to see some girl action and I can transfer them to the main tank.

I picked up some different starting nutes so I will pu them into the third tank to see if there is any improvement in presex size.

Yeah I got another pump as you can see in the pictures and note all three pumps are above water level so they can't be ruined when the power goes off.

Enjoy the pics.

Dang. Sounds like you have a lot going on dude. Nice. That's a lot of plants.

I am trying to get ready to take on a new medical patient to be supplied from my grow. I am a Health Canada legal grower and as such 4 patients can be accomodated at one grow site. I want to be really sure I can provide for the patient by growing what the patient wants economically and not be in a position of not having the means to keep the patient totally supplied with high quality medicinals of their choosing.

You must have a Health Canada physicans form signed by a doctor to take advantage of my site.
