Lighting Burned cob ?

After 2 hours the cob still function well. I off it and yeah the cob is very very hot to touch don't know if it is normal, my first cob..
Anyway it does not burn more, so probably it could works like this.

Okay BigSmO answer me by mail, it's not a big deal and will not stop it to work fine..
Problem solved thank you guys !

I’ll try to make this short... I recently purchased 2 vac sealed stainless water jugs.1/2 gallon each. Really really wanted the yeti but 129.99 was to much. I ended up getting a cheaper 14.99 Walmart ozark trail special. A week after I bought an RTIC which is a knock off of yeti. 39.99 vs 129.99. Yesterday morning I filled both with ice and by noon time the rtic had cool water and the cheaper one was a block of ice. One thing I never do is contact the manufacturer about issues. So many people and so many scams going it’s impossible for someone to replace an item even with a legitimate claim without making you jump through hoops.

Their reply... “ please send a photo of the defect.:rofl:
It’s not keeping the contents cold. Not sure I can photograph that.
So what they wanted was for me to send it back so they could perform an ice test. If it passed I’d have to pay return shipping and if it didn’t they would send a refund. The demands went on and on and Im not sure how this company would let me go without resolving the problem. Almost embarrsssing results next to the Walmart special too.
To top it all off I immediately found the flaw in their bottle too.

As for the original post it’s a difficult situation. My speculation may sound like I’m trying to avoid replacement. For the cob to be fine and the exterior of the holder to be burnt to me seems like it’s not necessarily a malfunction of any sort but possible what was mentioned above that something touched it and or burnt on it.

I did this same exact thing at my local grow store the first time I brought a cob in and the affects were similar. Face down on a surface that can’t absorb the heat will get warm enough to damage the face of the holder. Free floating cobs will run much cooler than face down on a counter or table.

I would try to use some iso alcohol on the holder. Some of the color on the holder may come off. I have stared at this picture for 20 minutes straight. Either way the light is functioning, it does appear to be superficial which should be fine. I’m not going to make you jump through hoops either,

I will gladly replace it. The cause doesn’t matter, your fault or the parts fault. Even the guy recently who’s dog are his cord off the light was taken care of much better than most would have imagined. Also since I don’t get paid $8 an hour to answer phones and refer you to our return policy page but actually care what people think of the product and customer service I’ll do what it takes to make it right.

I am sorry for the delay and appreciate the messages above. I shyt you not, I worked from 7am to 2 am today. This summer has been hell for me.

Just a side note to say how well these can withstand heat. I have four of these inside a panel with a glass shield 1/4 inch away from the cobs and they show no heat damage, plus I can put my hand on the glass while they are on. It’s very warm but not hot. So that just shows how hot that COB had to get to show that kind of damage.

So far I have had the opportunity and privilage to use the cobshop lights and I am very impressed with them! Dealing with BigSm0 was a dream to say the least, very honest and the service, well you guys know all about the service, second to none !! By the way I am not affiliated with cobshop in any way shape or form and I did not get paid for this!

Can I ask why you have glass beneath? You are losing light if I am not mistaken. Am I mistaken?

The amount of lumens lost because of a piece of clear glass is causing is worth it not to burn my hair on a hot COB while working in the tent. I actually have two of these I converted and the other one I left the glass out and the difference is negligible. If they had cheap clear plastic covers I would have never done it for fear of melting the plastic.
