Burr_nit’s 1st Organic Grow

:joy:I pretty much follow Amare-Vic's advice for cob use:
"Lower it to 22" with just the monochromes until they are 6"+, then raise it to 24" and flip on the COBs for explosive growth."
And also for UVB use:
"We recommend turning on the UVB for the first 10 hours of the photoperiod in flowering at the first sign of trichomes production until harvest. The SE450uvb has a dedicated power socket for the UVB and separate timer. "

Day 6:

Nothing to crazy to see, but they are growing.. I mixed in about an inch of some EWC and some perlite for some top dressing and then mulched the top with straw. The bag of EWC I used had a few baby worms in it, so that’s a plus. I’m going to add about three big night crawlers to each pot too once I grab some from the store.

Each pot got about half gallon of water yesterday, this seems to be a good amount every three days, for now. The next watering will be some Real Grower’s Recharge.

Again, this all one big experiment and I’m kind of ‘winging-it.’ Lol. — Lights are at 36’ just with LEDs on,

The only thing that is worrying me is I happen to stick my soil Ph meter into soil and it’s measuring at like 7.0+ which is not good. It’s little cheap-o meter so I don’t know how accurate it is, but that worries me a bit. I do not pH my tap water - I’m letting it sit out for 24+ hours before using, just hope my soil is not to hot and starts frying them??? But it’s all part of the learning process!?

Hope everyone is having an awesome day!!! Rock on AFN!

Day 11:

Soil just got it's second feeding of 'Real Grower's Recharge' (1 tsp spoon per gallon of water.) Each pot of soil got a little over half gallon.

Still have not adjusted the pH of anything water or feedings-- after mixing Recharge with water the pH was high. 8.0 ..the run off varied amongst individual pots 6.5 - 7.5 ..so idk. Things have seemed okay?!

Sorry for the black lines in photos..

Girls are looking real healthy and happy. But just curious, your using "Recharge at 1 table spoon per gallon of water," but Real Grower's literature/website all say teaspoons, not tablespoons. Though they also say that there is no risk of "burning" the plants. Just wondering.

Thanks for spotting that dude!! I’m definitely using 1 tsp. *** I went and edited that post to clear that up! Thanks again lol — Ya so far plants chugging along, still early but they have responded well to the organic soil it seems, next couple weeks should tell me a lot, hopefully this soil biology will keep providing these plants what they need.

Day 14:

Exactly two-weeks today and they are certainly hitting their stride.
I’ll tell ya too, I haven’t grown in about a year and I forgot how efficient this Amare se450 is. Let’s hope things cont. on the “up and up” lol.
