Calcium deficiency? Brown spots

You could always go the organic route and use egg shells in the soil to provide calcium and then use either some molasses or Epsom salt in the feed for the mag.

I would recommend that you add some molasses to the feed as it will benefit the microbes in the soil too.

If you cant get a calcium or cal mag supplement for the plants then eggshell in the soil is a good option as the shells are very easy to get hold of and they are 100% calcium. The secret to using eggshells is in the preparation.

Before you use eggshells in the soil you will need to do a few things to make them effective.
1. wash and dry the egg shells
2. remove any remaining membrane from inside the dry shell
3. grind dried shell into a powder
4. using a pestle and mortar grind the shells to a fine powder

By grinding the shells into a powder you increase the surface area of the shell massively and allow it to be absorbed into the plant/soil much quicker.

To apply the eggshell take a pen and poke about 6-8 holes in the soil around the plant. sprinkle the eggshell in and around these holes then mix the remaining eggshell into the top inch of soil, while trying not to damage roots.

I currently use 2 eggshells per 10l pot and when I water with molasses I add it at a rate of 5ml per litre

Just my 2 cents, I hope you get your girls back on track soon

That actually sounds like a good and clean recipe, in my mind. Thanks man, props.

Good show!

I couldn't get my hands on any molasses and the egg one sounds cool, but with a tad more steps in the recipe than what I did now, which was to buy some regular garden lime which is like powdered cal-mag, put a bit in the soil and on top of it, then watered a little bit with a mild mix of bloom ferts and pH'd water.. They haven't changed much or to the very visible here some 10h later, let's see tomorrow. Anyway, I think one of them is, excuse me, pretty fucked.. Has been so a couple of days or more..

Is it better to cut her down sooner than later when she's in this state?

The other ones are looking much better.. Yet not as good as want my next crop to look with all my new (expensive!) gear that I bought along the road to this..

wait it out. shes so young still.

You will see around here that cal mag deficiencies and LED lights are very common.
Do the egg shells and wait her out. The Calyx is not even swollen and no brown hairs.

Do they not sell molasses where you are?

If you cant find molasses it may be labelled as black treacle in the shops. You can find it in the cake baking section of the supermarket. All big grocery stores will have it in some form, and if you have to ask for help to find it then say you have been sent by your grandma to get it for her fruit cake.

Molasses translates to melasse where I'm at, so that's what I was looking for, couldn't find it anywhere, nor in the bakery sections.. But I just realized that you may mean what we call dark sirup here, and I already have some of that in advance. I'm from northern Europe, which perhaps explains why I couldn't get any as molasses/melasse :)

I have some dark syrup already, but I don't know if it's as strong as molasses. I'm gonna wait 12h more at least, and see what the cal-mag powder I gave them yesterday estimates to, today.
