Can you help me build a simple orgainc soil grow?

Vas Deferens - The difference between pasture poop & barn poop is that the barn poop gets walked around on & soaks up urine, which will burn plants unless composted very well. Meadow muffins might get a bit of rain, but they don't get the urine shower, compressed, etc. Some farmers don't clean out their barns until the manure's a foot thick. One guy I know had a manure pack 7 feet thick in the barn. Ridiculous & dumb, but some folks ya just can't talk to.
I collect both kinds. Meadow poop for tea & mixing soil; barn poop for compost bin or digging in for next year's garden.

Curlygirl420 - A mini worm farm would work great for your needs! There are some on eBay that hold just about 2 gallons, stored vertically, and you just rotate the bin & drop in your kitchen scraps. Genious!

Thanks for the info and ideas on the worm farm. Thought I'd mention I have a grow going on right now with the materials I listed in the first post. There's a link in my signature. I would really love it if you stopped by to take a peek and let me know what you think. Peace :peace:

I would add a little steer manure to your mix. I did this last grow and it was great. Its about $2.50 for a bag were I live at Ace. You don't use a lot of it and run the risk of getting bugs from it so you have to stay on the pest control but I was very happy with it. I went 30+ days with just steer manure, lime to correct the PH of my soil and a little humic acid that I am sure did nothing for my mix as I only used a table spoon mixed with a bag of soil. I put about 1/2 gallon of steer manure in it which was a little hot but it worked out good for me. I also ended up over feeding later in the grow around day 45 or so if I remember so probably could have went longer with out feeding if I would have done so or just fed with bat guano instead of a full bloom nute. Your nutes don't have time to break down if you don't cook. If you just plant in a smaller pot for the first 3 weeks and transplant up it will give your mix time to cook.

Your Blue Mystic is looking good & putting on weight, girl! Pat yourself on the back.

Each time you grow, you learn something new. I figure, the day I stop learning, I'll be tits-up.
