I tried to search a topic about CANNA AQUA -line nutrients and other products that goes with that, like Rhizotonic, Cannazym, Canna Bloom and Canna PK13/14. I have been using their product line for a simple reason that when I want to do hydroponic grows, my local store pretty much has that as my only choise. I gather it is a quality brand but I wonder does people here have plenty of experience with above products?

Canna's own instructions of use seems like total overkill so I have used heavily modified feeding and I am wondering if anyone would have a good guide on how to use these specific products in best possible ways when doing DWC. I would really appriciate your comments on this. I have noticed that I can actually start straight up with Canna AQUA Flores -nutrients even from the vegetative stage because with their Vega -line did take the Ph so terribly low that it started to cause some early issues for my babies. I mainly use something between 15ml to up to 30ml per ten litre of their base nutrients.

How about Cannazym and Canna Bloom? Are they worth it in your experience? It seems that when I don't use Canna Bloom it does take approx. a week longer for the buds to mature. But is that a bad thing when you think that with that extra week they can have more time to grow and eat light? Rhizotonic seems really like a good product but it raises Ph like crazy in the early stage when you dont have too much of base nutrients to create good enought Ph buffer. Any adviced on using that stuff? I've been using it really little anymore, like most of 10ml per 10 litres for rooting and just 5ml per 10 litres through the rest of the cycle.

Hi MedGrower .I use canna aqua & it is a good range even though it's not tailored for growing ganja .Seems like you need some PH UP & DOWN to adjust the final PH after adding the nutrients .Also a EC/PPM meter will tell you exactly how strong you nutes are giving you total control .

There feeding charts are overkill ,theres no specific guide to how much to use & when but you can kind of follow there charts by using the right additive when they say to ...just in lower doses .

Typically a baby seedling likes there EC/PPM around 0.8 / 400 .With DWC you change the bucket ,clean it out & make up fresh nutes each week to refill .As she grows you increase the EC/PPM each week as well .Monitoring the EC/PPM gives you an idea if the feeds to strong or weak & you can adjust if needed .
So using a EC Meter is a must really or you never know how strong to make the feed ...but with one you can set it to where you want .

Also the way you mix is important ...you always add the hot stuff into the res 1st & let it mix well ...like cal mag & silicon .Then any other additives like RHIZOTONIC ,CANNAZYM & then finally the aqua A&B upto the EC/PPM you want .This way you control the strength of feed by how much A&B you add at the end & testing with a meter .Finally you test the PH & ADD UP OR DOWN until your at the 5.8 mark .Test the PH Daily & adjust .

The boost is great stuff & makes a big difference to final yield ,the rhizotonic is great for DWC roots at the seedling stage & can be dropped in bloom ,PK is a 1 week shot of extra boost at the height of bloom & they all do there job well .

Main thing with hydro is to KNOW your PH & EC & control it .keep it the ranges the plant require & they will grow !
good luck ,heres a thread I learned a lot from & the grower using canna nutrients :goodluck::Sharing One:

Thank you for all that info! I do have Ph and EC meters but say... I have been under impression that optimal level for Ph would be 6.2 to 6.5. I usually aim to have it there and let to fluctuate a bit on that range? Have I been wrong to do that?

Thanks for the validation on those additives. Think I go and get another litre of that Boost. Man that stuff costs. Funny it smells so good you get a little instinct to drink it. Nom nom.

6.2 is about as high as you go with hydro ,best to aim for the magic number 5.8 & you should be golden !. Just below 5.8 in veg & just above in bloom :Cool bud: Its cool to let it drift up to 6.0 or a bit higher in bloom & PH back down again :Sharing One:

Thank you! On my next feed on the weekend I start to use that magic 5.8. Just got my new HS1 and started some photosensitive DP Ultimates.

Awesome .I have just failed a AU grow lol .Had root issues in the res .Another good tip is keep res temps cool bud ...20-22oC if poss ,no more than 24oC & NO LIGHT LEAKS :Cool bud:

Grats on the new Holographic Series 1.They are growing the plants I don't kill very well here ! :Sharing One:

I am so sorry to hear that! That is one reason why i switched from my old aeroponic kit to straight up dwc cause the waterpump in the res was heating the water.

I dont know how my babies made it alive but the temperatures get high in summer time even far up here in north. I measured many times the res temperatures of 28 c. Now I use just air pumps but there is no way I can control the temperatures too much at all. Always something like 24c.

Other thing is this freaking humidity. It has been crazy. 80% relative humidity all through winter and nothing I can do about it..

Anyway, I am so happy find out someone who is using about similar setup and who is willing to coach me up some. Wonderful! I really appriciate it man. When I get my first Med Gom#1 autoflowers I think I will do a grow diary for it.

you can brew a beneficial bacteria tea in a separate bucket & add that to the res .Moving the pump somewhere cooler helps a bit (may need more airline) ,covering the buckets with mylar or other reflective stuff helps too . The HS1 will help with the summer temps for sure & right now im running a radiator to keep temps up ,so looking forward to that !

I think not mixing my nutes long enough & not waiting between additives may have been the issue I had ...rushing making a res basically .Making up nutes a day or two early in another bucket & swapping after it's all fully diluted seems to be working this time

Wait.... You have to wait between adding the additives? Why? I have always just put A and B and then the additives one by one and stirred heavily in between every product.

How I do it is that I take just cold tap water to a bucket and let it warm up to room temperature for about 12 hours. Then I mix the nutes like I said above.. Then let them sit there over night, check Ph and apply it reservoir in morning. By then all the chlorine from the tap water should have evaporated.

How does that sound? I haven had any issues with that as far I have been aware, but have I done it wrong with the additives?

MedGrower, KsjAuto uses Canna products and gets great yields. I'd check with him if you don't find what you're looking for. Good luck.
