Hey there CocoNuts
I did a bit of research into this from the indepth canna info pages (you can sign up to canna.com to access them)
Here's a brief quote from them that i pulled and found enlightening
So the correct proceedure as i recall was to take a "core" sample from the middle. The way they do it is to remove from the pot ... take like a big appled coring knife and push in and grab a bit ...
... then put in a beaker with some water (that presumabley you know the ph of) .... give it a good mix, let it settle and test.
But i don't think i'd personnally go to this effort.
... too scary!!
I assume that if i'm somewhere in the range of 5.8 to 6.1 ... it's okay as canna coco is quite good at buffering ph.
Hope this helps!

Well I flushed two of them, runoff ph was stil quiet high but ppm's went down.. Did a slurry test on the coco and it showed it the ph at 6.1 so happy enough with that so il let it go and just keep an eye on them
yeah im dealing with the same issue with my canna coco. i just rinsed the next batch of coco and i was getting a initial runoff of 1250ppm so i ran about 250ppm of calmag and kelp throught it until it showed me the same ppm readings coming out. im not gonna worry about the pH. lets see how that works for me and ill let you know

remember you can NOT get accurate results in pH and EC tests on the run-off or drain, it takes the procedure described in the COCO Infopaper for correct results. (Blue Edit: Which is ridiculous - and don't think you'll want to do it to your canna plant!
