Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome

@Frankthetank i am recreational user but it helps with my bi polar keeps me on the level
See, that’s the thing. If you delve into most recreational users…many subtly use it for mental health support. So, that aspect of it, may be in a grey area of sorts…in between, kind of.

Im really glad I started this thread. Hopefully us stoners can get to the bottom of this issue and figure out how to mitigate the problems or fully resolve them.
Doctors dont seem to know much or care about how to resolve this other than saying you need to fully quit.

Yeah...I'm Proud of you...:bravo:..it needs talked about by the people affected..so we can collate the information.

I first heard of it years ago when they first started diagnosing it and being a cynical cow I thought it was just a doctor's catch all diagnosis..if they knew you smoked dope and couldn't explain it...But...I will say..there is a communality to your symptoms .

One of the oddities is the pain only being relieved by a hot shower...it is an oddity...so worth mentioning if you experience this...:headbang:..coz it could be something we can work with for basic pain relief...

Well done for sharing @Jean-O ...:bighug:..I hope you get some answers..:pass:

Could it have something to do with the soothing of the central nervous system? The release of endorphins, etc?

Or simply lack of circulation .. then blood being drawn to the area by the hot water action..you know my theory about nerve pain being caused basically by lack of circulation...all considerations.

@Jean-O ...you haven't got a pH meter have you...?.. :pass:

Would you all consider yourselves medical or recreational users?

I’ve had dealings with folks with this issue in the past. I can’t remember ever hearing of a heavy medical user ever having it. I’m wondering if there’s something going on with continual, extreme overloading of an otherwise healthy endocannabinoid system.

The symptoms listed are essentially the things that the endocannabinoid system regulates (which are mood, sleep, appetite, memory and pain).

Essentially, I think what I’m getting at, is that the chronic overloading of the cannabinoid system with exogenous cannabinoids… is causing a disregulation event.

That’s just a theory I’ve had for awhile. I have no clue if it’s even on the right path, or not. But it’s input, I suppose…
That would seem logical.
The endocannabinoid system is definitely a large and very important part of our physiology.
We all know heavy users that do not suffer this. It is definitely not widespread, with the amount of users.
I'd be willing to bet there is something in some strains that some people are sensitive to. I do think the endocannabinoid system and immunity system are closely tied.
It could be anything, literally, that triggers this response. I do think it IS an immune system response.
Just not enough research on it due to Fed classification.

With so many different vaccines for various ailments and and and medicines that screw with your immune system, there's no telling what is occuring.

Here take this medicine For psoriasis. Be aware of that this thing could open you up to all sorts of cancers and infections that could kill you.

I had a bout of this long ago after being laced with K2/spice overdose.

About a month or two clean and I was able to slowly add it back.

Capsaicin cream on the stomach helps, as did eating apples or banana.

Avoid spicy food.

Exactly why I take hot baths before I travel outside the home.
It's for the additional blood flow and helps reduce the inflammation of the joints.

A quick thought…

There’s relatively little research done on this topic… but perhaps we can extrapolate some information on a well studied, and slightly related topic.

The impact of long term opioid abuse on the opioid receptors is well studied. There are changes the receptors go through with long term over exposure, in the bodies attempt at maintaining homeostasis. Perhaps a similar thing happens with the cb1 & cb2 receptors.
