Had some Northern Lights and Short Ryder of quality shake and Swiss Cheese bud.

7 grams of NL/SR shake and 7 grams of Swiss Cheese Bud
1/2 lb butter
Half a pan of water

Grind shake and bud; bring water to a boil; add shake and boil for 2 minutes; add cut up butter and simmer for one hour; cool; pour into air tight container; refrigerate till solid; remove cannabutter from water; keep wrapped and use as for making edibles or just spread on toast and get toasted.

Additional info: After the 1st simmer let cannabutter cool to room temp. Then bring back to a simmer for another hour, let cool and then another one hour simmer. Three simmers will extract all the good stuff. Anymore than three simmers is not necessary.

Sounds like a great way to make Canna Butter ... what happens to the remains of the shake or does it get strained at some point ?

After the Cannabutter cools to room temp; strain through cheese cloth and chill in refrigerator over night. I made sure I squeezed the shake real good. Pouring boiling water over the shake will remove all the butter. After it's been cooled over night. The cannabutter now will settle to the top. Simply remove the butter from the water and store in a air tight container. Then use as any butter.

I just discard the used up shake. I guess you could save it, but all the good TCH and good stuff has been extracted.

Photos of the finished butter will be posted soon.

I'll see where the stash stands after my next harvest and hope make some butter ... How can you tell good shake from bad ? I've got the sugar leaves from about 6 plants ...

The shake I used was the remainder of the buds of the Northern Lights and Short Ryder. There was more "shake" than bud. I also used bud from the Swiss Cheese.

Save all your sugar leaves for the Cannabutter. You'll need one ounce to a pound of butter (1:16).

I just had some summer squash and marinara sauce with rigatoni pasta. Topped with grated Romano cheese and 1 TBS of cannabutter. That was a 1/2 hour ago and I'm starting to feel the buzz coming on. I need to take the Beagle out now before I'm couch locked for the next 8 hours.

(It's been one hour now since I had my cannabutter lunch. I have done all I really need to do for the rest of the day. One Tablespoon of the "butter" may have been a bit too much. We'll have to see.)

One tablespoon of the cannabutter was very good and got well stoned. Just like the high when vaped, but more intense and lasted a good 6-8 hours. Tonight I had some roasted Irish potatoes and added a teaspoon on the canna. Nice smooth stone.

3 teaspoons (1TBS)= Couch Lock
2 teaspoons= Stoned
1 teaspoon= Average Buzz

Gonna try a Cannabutter breakfast next week while on vacation.

Irish potatoes are sliced potatoes cooked in butter. Not hot enough to fry them, but hot enough to make the soft. Then I added some chopped green onions and 1 teaspoon of my NL-SR-SW Cannabutter. Got a good buzz on 1 teaspoon.

I'm living in the USA, Southern New England.

In the Philadelphia area they have "Irish Potatoes" that are coconut candies that look like small potatoes.
