I didn't see another thread about this, but i didn't look terribly hard either, so if this is a repeat - I apologize :smoking:

I love to cook, so naturally cannabutter was sort of a no brainer for me - and I've made it at LEAST a dozen times.
But only just recently learned that to PROPERLY make cannabis infused...well...anything really lol, you need to decarboxylate the weed first...in english you need to convert the THCA to THC...chemical reactions and all that science-y crap lol.

HighTimes says as long as the plant material reaches 250 F for an hour, that the end product will be potent.
So OK- I got me a candy thermometer so I can watch that shit like a hawk.
HOWEVER, lol, the HT article goes on to give a 'recipe' for cannabutter, that uses 1 stick salted butter and 1/4 ground up bud. Then says, and I quote, "Add the ground buds, and simmer on low heat for 45 minutes, stirring frequently".

....so....is it 45 or 60 minutes, High Times? because there is no more talk in the recipe about re-heating, so thats got me confused. And is the timing the same when you're using trim vs bud?
Anyone with thoughts??

You need an oven thermometer. Get your oven to 250° put your weed on a sheet pan in the oven for 26-27 minutes then cool it. Now you're ready to cook with it

Do you also do that when making canna butter?

Thanks for the recipe! I'm in the midst of trying it out now, had to wait for the soy lecithin to come in from amazon or I wouldve done it sooner lol so, fingers crossed!

Fantastic I am sure you will be happy let me know how it turns out.

Oh and I will want some of your delicious whatever you make.
