Live Stoner Chat carbon filter question

Hi Witness :)

I don't know that brand but it looks like the right "kind" of thing.
I would recommend buying a really good filter and out take fan. I've had my filter (Phresh filter) for over 4 years now and it's still doing the business for 1-3 plants.

Is the fan powerfull enough?
It depends on the size of your cab!

If you can tell us your cab size, somebody will be able to work out the minimum air exchage you'd like to achieve :)

All the best

Blue ^_^

Blue is right. Spend the money on a phresh or a can filter, and make sure your CFM rating isn't to high but is high enough to cycle the room! And you will be lucky if you get 16 to 18 months out of a fliter that does some heavy scrubbing.

It;s about 2 feet by 6 feet. and thats where i get totally lost can someone just link me the one to buy that will work (the filter and the fan) I get completely lost with 'cfm rating' shananagins

I think you could get away going with what I had!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-6-8-inch-...34?pt=US_Hydroponics&var=&hash=item5d48e2b99e

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Can-Filter-...6852558?pt=US_Hydroponics&hash=item2eba76f04e

but you will need a flange. Buy local like Home Depot or lowes cause expensive as shit online.
But you have less than $100 in fan and scubber

small compact and quiet and best of all... It works.

if your room is 24 cubic feet, this 90 cfm fan will run about 80 with pressure, and will cycle your room 3 times in 1 minute!

Step 1: Room Volume
First the volume of the room needs to be calculated. To calculate multiply length x width x height of growing area e.g. A room that is 8' x 8' x 8' will have a volume of 512 cubic feet.

Step 2: CFM Required

Your extraction fan should be able to adequately exchange the air in an indoor garden once every three minutes. Therefore, 512 cubic feet / 3 minutes = 171 CFM. This will be the absolute minimum CFM for exchanging the air in an indoor garden.

.....

More extraction is good - no need to go super crazy though..

If you're just gonna buy something good ... go for a Ruck 125L (thats a 4 inch hole) with auto heat sensor and adjustment (need to click the big RUCK to go to page)

RUCK

and a Phresh or Rhino carbon filter

http://www.phreshfilter.com/about/size-selector.aspx (the second one on this list is suitable for the above fan)

Basically what i use

2 x 6 x 7 = the minimum amount of air exchange needed in your cab.

Although i would go for more.

My cab is 2 x 2 x 5 and i use the fan i linked to. (which i think goes up to 270cfm ... which is clearly a lot more than i need)

Hope this helps.

(your number was 84 ^_^ .. i can't resist)

Guerillas is more in my price range(dont want to spend more then 150 if possible
