Hey Carbon,

Sounds good matey, I like the towl method you have done. My RH is 37% tops so im going to put a wet tea towel in there to help raise it. It may also drop my temps. I was hitting 87F today highest up to now, usually its around 82F. Im concerned as its like 13 celcius and they are hitting them temps even with the heating off in my house. I have got a small intake fan sitting there, its passive at the moment but may install it and see if it helps. I also moved my ballast. I had it next to the intake vent, I feel like a dumb twat! Probably why it was so high lol.

As for that fan and filter combo I have the excact same one mate, its generally a good all round extractor and basix carbon filter
Filter should last around 2 years if using 24 hours a day most people would say. If you get clips to attach the ducting dont use them, get your self some duct tape or aluminum tape mate, clips are crap!

Also the ducting isnt insulated so its pretty loud, not too loud but loud if you know what I mean. If I shut the door were my tent is you cant here it which is good. I have to have my lights on 12/12 because I wont be able to sleep with it on. Takes me hours to fall asleep.

Also the filter is basically a throw away, you cant really open it to replace thr carbon like some models. If you bought a pin rivot remover and a rivit gun you could reuse it though!

Here we go again...
If your temps are that high leave the door of your tent all the way open and replace it with a black towel maybe two for the light keep them wet and see if it works like a passive intake, mines being sucked into the cab. If it doesn't have much effect place a desk fan outside blowing onto the towel and i'm sure you will see results :thumbs:

I'm hoping the fans not too loud because its going under my bed but if it is ill just wrap it and the ducting in a sleeping bag as its going to be venting to my room anyway.
I actually only have permission to do one grow so chances are this will be the only time its used with me anyway.

Same here carbon! Passive intake active exhaust! Works every time for me but my temps in my closet are 65 degrees and some times I don't get over 70. Love me some pink! lol

I'm going to be adding a 135w black star in the near future for finishing. I'm getting great results with cfl but I would love to get my buds even tighter and fatter. I'd say work with what you've got, perfect it, then upgrade.
Let your soon to be amazing plants pay for the cabinet first (by ditching the dealer, not becoming one of course)
Plus if you spread out the upgrades you won't get bored!
Looking great man. The first grow is always so exciting and nerve racking. I used to just sit and stare at my plants for hours and hours. Now I do but for like 15 minutes. It's great that you are having such a great time

Haha id like to keep mine on the cooler side for the same reason! The Cream Mandarin is men't to get some pink/red hues to it :drool:

Hey man u bet you plants will take off when they see a blackstar!! id love to get one myself maybe in the future. My problem is i only actually have permission to do this one grow so unless i get lucky and get to do another this is my one shot!
I'm going to be going with the 125w cfl in a home made cool tube just because its cheap and easy plus it makes use of the rear extractor i'm using now as im switching to a proper fan/filter set up same time as i get the bulb. If that cools it down past 70f in there instead of turning the fans down ill add 20w cfl bulbs as lower lights to maximize down crop.
I'll also be ordering 1 Blue Himalaya seed and 1 Afgan kush which will be in pots as big as i can fit without effecting the rest of the grow

A little update on the girls

Temps are perfect and humidity is up for the seedling stage, both seeds are up and doing there thing and doing it fast!

Hi guys, just a quick question regarding my domes/humidity

Firstly how long after they have broken the soil do i remove the domes? I'm in no rush just don't want to restrict airflow on them.
Secondly Whats the optimum RH during the seedling stage? iv'e read elsewhere its best to keep it up high for the first week or two.
Right now my RH inside the cab is 50-60% is this to high? If so what should i be aiming for?

Ps. Both plants are now around 2 cm :thumbs:

As soon as they break surface and pop out then remove the domes. That RH is fine. 50-70% for veg and 25-45 for flower. : D

Thanks man, domes are now off and humidity is perfect!! temps around 75-80!!
