New Grower Cardboard box CFL first time plans, advice seemed! :-)

A closet wouldn't be good as my daughter might get into it.

If you have a usable space, but need it to be secure, hasps and locks would be a fine option! "wg's Cool"

Yup, like everyone said the cardboard box is a bad idea. There are lots of people who have done very well in cabinets, myself included. I have a lock on my cab, works like a charm.

I am in agreement with everyone here, a cardboard box is a fire risk

I always tell people who want a discreet grow to go to the local junk/charity shop and buy an old wardrobe to convert.
you can pick them up really cheap, and they are much better than the new flatpack stuff as they are made from real wood, which handles moisture and temperature changes much better that the poorly made wardrobes of today. Plus they are discreet, nobody would look twice at an old wardrobe, but a box construction or a grow tent stands out like a sore thumb

It's a good idea regardless of construction materials to install an extra smoke/fire alarm and have an extinguisher handy. All of the lighting we use could start a fire, overloaded electric, space heaters, etc. It's cheap insurance.

@hedrokka I won't beat a dead horse but cardboard + cfl = more than likely a fire I have a grow tent by grow labs it's 15" x 15" and like 4' high it's so small that you could easily hide it and lock it up, they even make smaller profile grow tents... As far as the PC grows go check out some of herbal_experiences grows and check out the
Micro section for some more ideas. I def think you could pull a oz from a PC grow.
You are certainly off to the right start by reading up and making a plan! For nutes I would strongly suggest advanced nutrients PH perfect line. As I did not see you mention anything about a ph meter... And ph is prob one of the most important parts of having a successful grow... If the PH is off you'll will have all sorts of troubles... With the AN nutes a ph meter isn't even needed...

im not being funny but if you cant use a tent in your house its clearly too much of a security risk area to start growing at all. they look like pop up tents and very compact, easily hidden/disguised. obviously its your choice, but if i couldnt use a tent due to security then i wouldnt grow. have a look on youtube i think youll be surprised how discreet the tents actually are, good luck i hope you can start growing successfully!
