Grow Mediums Cat Grows Green Poison by Sweet Seeds

I think once we start, things just seem to get bigger. I would try hydroponic, but not until I was more confident
Cat I was the same started in coco just started dwc bubble buckets it really isn't that hard now I run both coco and autopots set it and forget it and bubble buckets go on ya know you want to [emoji2]

Amused ourself to death

Yeah my first grow I used ff ocean forest and ff nutes. The soil was too nutrient rich for the seedlings which was my first issue. Then as time went on and I would have lockout, deficiencies, etc. just from lack of experience. It was harder to try and correct with the soil than it has been with the coco. I also got gnats with the soil. The coco I have treated the same way. Just with a coco nute line from h&g. So far I have had two small issues during this grow and both times I simply flushed the pots and readjusted the feed. Good advice from @jingo and @Cat. Both times the girls were gtg within a day. With the ff soil I know both of those issues would have plagued me for at least a few days to a week. I like feeling more in control of what I'm doing with the coco.

In my area if you use Fox Farm soil you're guaranteed to have root Aphids and thrips they sell them to you right in the soil. That's why I originally went to deep water culture and eventually ended up going with Coco it just cuts out a lot of those pests.

I won't even buy my coco in bags, just compressed bales, so I know there's no bugs.

You make it sound so easy and tempting

This is what I love the most about coco

I buy my coco in bags, but only because there's not much space indoors to prepare and my neighbours are too nosey to do outside. I go with Canna coco with no sign of creepy crawlies

I'm lucky with the neighbors, the misses loves her veg growing, winter and summer. So it just looks like I'm sorting her shit out when potting up.... she get me to do all the hard work.

When I was prepping my coco I did it in the shower. Hydrated in a large Rubbermaid and then into a 5 gallon bucket with drain holes. Rinsed through the bucket until runoff was clear and they stacked another 5 gallon inside to press the excess water out. Worked well and mess was easy to clean up in the shower. That's also where I do my flushes.

Yer, I flush in bath, but it just seems like so much hard work to prepare coco. I suffer from spinal issues, so the Canna professional plus has been a God send
