Mephisto Genetics CDLC...With and without Air injection.

I have a Noob question. Are air domes used with autopot systems or can you use an air dome by itself and hand water?
I bought them with my Autopots... however I don't use my Autopots. I have these plants in 3quart pots. I have an Airdome in one and I am handwatering. However, using an Airdome in such a small pot is an advanced technique. I Don't suggest it without an Automated system. I prefer a drip stake system feeding 6x per day. But for this little experiment, I will hand water. These plants I water 2x per day now. Never to run off yet.

Well it is official, Day 4 with Airdome on. The smaller plant is now taller! Told ya! It is getting taller, the other one is thicker. But the Airdomes make plants stretch more. Wait and see, it will be taller and also flower faster. But I believe the Domes become obsolete near the tail end of flower. The roots don't need the extra air at that point in the plants life. So I have been turning them off the last 2 weeks of the plants life.

So today is day 5 with Airdome on, or Day 19 from seed. I will wait more days to snap another pic or 2, on Day 21. That will be 1 week of full Airdome time. Airdome plant is now larger than it's sister. The amount of growth in only 5 days is pretty staggering. To surpass it's sister in that short of time is rather impressive. I see the structure difference happening, they will be different shapes in 1 more week. I bet Airdome girl ends up significantly taller in the end.

Okay, day 21 from seed. 4 days since last update. Plant with Airdome is not as wide, but is taller and will be it's whole life. First picture you can't really tell that it is taller. But in the individual pics you can see the structure difference, and height difference. Been doing some leaf tucking, gonna do it more often.

Beautiful dark lime green fatty leaves. Really cool experiment. Amazing the smaller airdome girl caught up almost the second you turned the air on.

I have lots of experiments up my sleeve! I am going to try my next experiment by turning on the Airdome on 1/2 way from day 3 from seed!!! Then crank it up to full on day 7 if things look good. I also want to point out that I am using small pots with these Airdomes. So I have a lot of Air pumping through a small amount of medium.

looking forward to your future experiments :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Looks like too much N...
How do you recommend turning on autopots and airdomes? Both at the same day? Day before hand watering? Or when pots are dry?
Not too much N, my camera phone just blows so it looks darker. With your giant Autopots I suggest turning on the Airdomes a week before you turn on the Autopots. One thing of the reasons your plants take longer and struggle at times is because of too much moisture in a big pot without roots. Personally I would handwater with Airdomes on around day 14 and handwater lightly from the top for 5-7 days before flooding the bottom with Autopots. Your root system will do much better, and growth will be much faster. BTW, you can always put your air pump on a timer of you have any concerns.
