Hey guys. If you are going to scrog in a growbox and useing cfls for veg can you just set your lights the distance you want from a scrog and just let her stretch or should I have a single light and keep it dangleing close to plant till it starts reaching the scrog? Thanks!

Hey nate. If it were me I would keep it above the screen but close to screen as possible. How far do your plants have to go to reach the screen?

I was thinking between 10in and a foot. Scrog is a couple square feet. Shes gonna be manicured alot so she wont fill it super fast. Was gonna run a 43w and 4 23w. Shes in a temp grow box, something I can throw away and not pay to be moved like 1600 miles lol. Its just painted flat white, no mylar. Was wondering if I could have my lights fixed or if I had to have them adjustable. Or maybe a combo of both, like have the 23w fixed and the 43 adjustable.

I think the safest option would be to have them all adjustable if you can. If your plants stretch like mine in flower you'll be glad you did.

I'd for sure make them adjustable You never know how tall the plants will get...if you have the cfls too far they get stretchy but its not a good stretch...the node sites will be farther away...closer light will give you tighter nodes

Changed my mind abit but wanted to share what I did. Its a "mini" scrogg almost 2 square feet. I got 3 cfls, 2@23w and 1@43w. Scrogg is made up of some dabre constuction fencing and was left over from another scrogg. Sockets for lights are from an old chandelier I threw away. Big bulb came from chandelier, little ones came from my garage. Its the lights we use in ourliving room cause the ceiling is 10 ft and hard to light. Its hydro, copied pops and not useing air pump for water but leaving air space for roots. Grow box frame is my old changing table for my daughter and is covered by a cardboard box with the inside painted white, paint was also leftovers. Got a vent cut at bottom for intake and exhaust is a 6 inch fan above lights. Keeps it nice and cool. Complelty made from scraps lol, cost me nothin. Here is some pics :) some will prob be flipped wrong way.

You want those lights as close as possible. But it is dangerous because of heat. I like to keep mine within a inch but as you can see, these are LED bulbs. They still get hot. If you have good airflow, I would say 2 inches is best IMO.. You plant is a bit stretchy but it looks good!
