for the most part what your looking at with led construction is a power supply, voltage drivers, and your diodes. then theres heat sinks and fans, but that depends on how hard you drive your leds. you sacrifice power with lower voltage, but with more voltage comes more heat. most leds will be operating at their most efficient output at about half of the rated maximum current, where you will effectively find a sweet spot for longer life/light output per watt, while minimizing the heat load that you have to manage. id recommend some of the osram diodes. the variables to play around with come down to the voltage drive, density of diodes, and color spectrum selection. also as many have stated before me im sure, you'll end up looking a lot at the placement of the diodes in conjunction to the plants that you're growing.
