What do you guys think about thesd cobs? Was looking to get like 3 of them, 4000k ones and run them on 600mA, cca 20w, total 60w. And use them in my small 35x35cm tent. Im in the middle of making another panel for my other cab but would also like to refresh this one. Also I was looking at Citizen CLU048-1212 cobs, whats your opinion?

I'm running the clu048 1212 3500k now at 650ma and I can tell there is a noticeable difference from me old lights. Only been running them for 4 weeks though.

Here's the specs on the 1212's they are one of the best chips out at the moment in my opinion. If your aiming for a specific wattage per cob then there is more in depth work to do. For instance driving a 1212 to 50w vs driving a 1812 to 50w will be a small benefit in the 1812 but also a price difference. Driver wise they are close to the same. 1212 requires less voltage but also higher amperage to hit higher wattages. 1812 uses higher voltage but lower amperage to hit the same watts.

I don't know enough about the clu038's to make any judgement but I do know a little about the 048's and I say it's a great option. Northern grow lights is an amazing source for components. Trust me on this I spent hours on the phone with components distributers today in hopes of lower pricing and without spending thousands it's impossible to beat there cob price by as little as a dollar. $19 for the 1812 with a $3.50 holder puts them at 15.50 each and very reasonable shipping.

Noticeable as in double the light output for the same wattage according to the lux readings. So composed Jupiter

Will look into 1212 more. Thinking of running like 3 of them on 600mA. Cheap chinese driver per cob. What do you guys think? I have 4x CXB2530 on 350mA now, so should I go with 2x1212 on 1050mA or 3x1212 on 600mA?

A lot of it depends on your budget and height. The 3 1212's on 600ma would have a higher lm/w. For longevity and efficiency it makes more sense to spend a little more on a better driver. The cheaper ones range 5-10 each where a nice meanwell is only 55. A little more up front but worth the money.

@BigSm0 can you link me to were you check those specs because its nice to see the actuall watts driven at different amps,makes it alot easier to work out how many chips you need

I am using a cheap 36v 1500mA driver with a CLU-048-1212 @ 50 watts and it is working good for a few small ladys. They're a bit low on room considering they just started flowering, but the tops are 4-5 inches from the light and lovin it. Their nodes are actually super tight compared to the plants under the CLU-058-1825s but that may also be genetics or something else.

I thought to use 2 or 3 cobs in 35-35cm or 40x40cm on 600ma, should be fine. Clu 048-1212 3500k.
