Is there a reason, rule, law or anything that says we cannot have a classifieds/barter/haggle section to shift our used/unused equipment, wanted/unwanted stuff? Just thought if we took everything to PM's and use a feedback system, certainly we are a better group of folks than the entire eBay crowd. Or does the inherent illegalities of certain activities prevent such a useful thread?
Or am I just missing the obvious cover up of a non-mentioned or otherwise obvious thread that is right the eff in font of my face and now I've gone and screwed it up for everyone? If so all apologies, mod please delete this and everyone continue with daily activities.
If not, if anyone has any ideas on how we could accomplish this while retaining some semblance of anonymity and/or safety please, let us hear you!

Hi Aku! Sharing of personal information is to each users discretion but overall its discouraged for safety reason and one of the AFN TOS is no selling trading etx... So that's why there is no area for that... It's best for all to keep anything of the such strictly to pm's and best not to at all... ALWAYS got to watch out for safety! There are plenty of threads with great advice to find great gear with proven results and reviews for the best prices.... Tons of helpful members will "point" you in the right direction for what ever your looking for etx... And if your looking to get rid of equipment I know a lot of my local hydro shops will give you store credit for used stuff depending on what it is...
:Sharing One:

ps I'm sure a mod or someone with some authority can pipe in and offer more legit endorsed AFN response....

Would be useful but im guessing security is a problem.

Hmm, kinda what I thought.

I did some digging around but couldn't find anything. Could someone in the know point me in the right direction to becoming a vendor or otherwise paying a fee to be able to advertise and sell things directly to the members?
I don't even know if AFN does this. I have seen, like on car forums, they have vendors that run sales of car parts and such in threads to members. I don't even have anything to sell as yet, just curious about the process if I did have something saleable to the public, if that was possible here...

Aku,

We don't allow classified ads or sales on AFN for privacy and security reasons and that's most likely not going to change. We do have a small list of approved vendors; but there is criteria to be met there and it's not something just handed out or passed around lightly and you generally need to have some experience/reputation/clout.

You would need to contact a Super Moderator/Admin to discuss any proposals.

Sorry Aku we don't allow it on site.

Safety reasons...swapping of address info with people you don't Know.

Also..at one time we did and a member got ripped paying for lights that never got delivered so we stopped it.

Sorry...:tiphat:

No worries, just curious. Thanks for the responses!
