Hello

I've ordered Viparspectra 900 watt (420 true watt) for my 48x48x80 grow tent, internationally, so i can't send it back, only to find out it's low on red light, 30% red 20% green 50% blue, so it would be weak for flowering, i heard great things about the COBS, so i was thinking to add COBS to balance out the void and keep the cost down instead, what do you advice me regarding that matter, i'm totally new without experience, spent few months reading and learning, so any advice help would be great.

Well you could get a 2700k autocob and use it to supplement the red and that will hold you over. Although, personally I would put that new viparspectra up for sale, cut my losses, and purchase a set of autocobs. I only say this because I have converted three different LED panels to COBs and once you see what inside it really doesn’t justify the price.

it was too late when i discovered the Autocobs :( also i was planning to sell the Vipar and purchase the HLG-600H, which is perfect for 48x48 but where i live no one is into growing really, and if i sold it it would be for fraction of the price, so i thought of making it for veg tent in the future and HLG for flowering, as i read it is excellent for vegging, but right before i ordered, i thought it's just too much money to spend on first grow, also if i get a full set of COB it would cost me around the same for the HLG-600 to fill out my grow space, then i was like i'll just add 40 watt warm light bulbs but not sure if that will make big difference, i'm honestly torn here, would 1 COB 2700 be sufficient to fill in ?

Honestly for first grow you will be fine with vispar. 1 cob will help but 2 would be needed to supply both sides of tent. With even lighting. If I were you I'd finish my first grow to establish a base environment and then look to expansion. Chances are you will be bit by the bug and want more and more till you eventually become a plant yourself.

Also on the qb boards one thing nobody looks at is height. Qbs are awesome if you run the same strain and they all keep even. But if you are like the rest and want a variety then cobs are the best bang for buck. You can grow a 6ft monster next to a dwarf plant and not worry about sacrificing on either.

Sounds like a good plan, maybe i'll get 1 or 2 3000k COB for now, and i can always use them later for other plants that have different hights, and 3k is suitable for full cycle, so win win.

I did take that into consideration, that's why i picked similar hight autos, but i'll probably start with 4 northern lights by nirvana or 5 if i get the COB, thanks for your input
