im wanting a 18 cob set up. my first thought is a heatsink bar 6 ft. long to hold 6 cobs. then 3 bars total. will be something that can work. wanting to cover 30 plants. also any advise on new cobs available? what type cob shines wide pattern? thanks

Someone with experience with large cob setups will surely help you. But they might want to know the drive current:-)

for that many cobs I would seriously consider passive pin fin heat sinks to keep the weight down. To help spread the light better you could use reflectors or a lens. Have you watch any youtube vids ? I can recommend watching growmau5 youtube, everything you need to know is there here a link
:pass:

I reckon your idea would work well mate. I've also been thinking about that heatsink extrusion. Heatsink and frame in one. Nice.

It's expensive though.

I will use 3 drivers 320-1400 type if memory is right. for 18 cob. is there any new cob tech on the market? or best bang for buck cobs?where do you cob shop? for heatsink, heatsink usa,I think is option. but also I have to figure out best bang for the buck again on heatsink. in my basement it seems good to use a bar attached to ceiling, then raise plants. if I lower light bar I will hit my head often. but whatever is best money wise will help.
