I am documenting this method as we have already found out the 7 day jar method works.

I did both last time but it was poorly documented in my main grow thread. Ultimately i found they both work the same. This one just does it over the course of 3 days instead of a week.

But i took a few months growing this dankity!! WHY would i water cure to remove smell and taste? And why do this method?

Well, i am almost out and as much as i live rec, im more of a med guy. And mrs hg is also medical. So ive got about 2-3ish weeks before og kush is done, but only have about 4-5 days of meds. So i took 2 medium/small branches early to fast cure and have till i chop the rest.

So whats needed?
Small funnel
Plastic Straw & scissors
Coffee pot
2 liter bottle (top 2 inches)
Fresh cut flower
Sink (out of the way is better)
Dark of course

Here are the 2 branches ive taken. From here i wet trimmed and put them into my coffee pot.

Then i inserted the straw into the funnel and set the funnel in the pour spout of the coffee pot. Once the straw was touching the bottom of the pot i noted where to cut. I wanted it about 1/4" below the "bowl" of the funnel.

Then i cut the top of the 2-liter about 1 inch below the cap/screw. I wanted to have a little bit of a spacer to help keep the canna under warter and mold free.

Then I filled the coffeepot through the funnel slowly. Once it was filled i adjusted the stream to just over a trickle, covered the sink in a towel (since i have my led seed start/veg setup running in there) and walked away.

I will say fast drying is important for mold evasion.... So hang directly in front of a fan for a day or 2 till dry.

A lot of the wet cure questions were answered in the sticky in the curing section. This is just a slight adaptation to speed the process up.
I used to keep aquariums. And the logic here is the same. The water will take in the baddies, and will do so better if the water is cleaner. So a constant slow change will be more efficient than 3 days doing 1 or 2 changes a day... Thats why the other water cure takes 7 full days. At least 1 a day.

Just sharing some knowledge. Try if if you wanna smoke fast and without smell or flavor (80%-90% gone). Or dont try it. Just dont hate it.

What's the straw for and I couldn't see the bottle top part? Also why do this? Is it to clean the weed of pesticides and other baddies? Like washing fruit before eating?

Sent from my comfy chair.

It pulls all the chlorphyll amd terps and flavs out and leaves just bud and the key alkaloids that arent water sluble (like thc)
It makes the weed have no flavor or smell. Great for traveling in the prohibition states or just to stay low key in public.
Its also because i dont have time for a regular cure... I need to be smoking in 5 to 6 days. I can barely dry a branch that fast let alone cure it in jars. So this is just a fast way to medicate. Though i am sad that i dont get to really taste the og yet.

Edit: @Rollin_along i forgot to quote[emoji23][emoji23]

Presuming it effectively removes chlorophyll and other plant pigments, what color are the buds when done and dried?

Theyre actually more of a brownish green. Like the mids from the early 2000s. But it still gives the same effect as it would normally. No bag appeal so no /low sales... But im personal use anyway so idc. Its really mainly for when i need it sooner than normal dry & cure will allow.
These are from my prior experience.
Here it is at harvest and a chunk after water cure

No pics today but i emptied the pot into my watering can and let it refill with the trickle. Takes about 20 mins to refill. So it turns the water 3 times an hour (72 times a day) for 3 days and i do empty it daily just for the added nutes being pulled to give to my other ladies.

Potassium is most noticable as the water often smells like bananas.

Just tagging in to let yall know its still goin on... The banana smell is gone. Now it's very light grass. Thats was actually faster than last time. Again, i gave the coffeepot water to my living plants and refilled with the trickle. Still took about 20 mins. Im happy with the progress.

Ok. I tied them up last night about 10pm. This is how they look 14 hours later i apologize as i failed to take a pic of them just starting to dry

Gave a lil sqeezd this morning and they were drt enough to jar. Remember, i use a lil more caution for mold so i did overdry quickly. And now... I cut it down, soaked, dried, and now im ready to smoke. 5 days after chopping. And i can be a lil less discrete as it doesnt have that strong smell.

The buds did retain some of their lemony scent. Moreso than my last time. Im unsure of the variable other than strain.

Flavor is gone as i expected. 99%. I cant even taste lemon even when i can clearly smell it in the green bud. The smoke loses all of it.

I hope this helps yall in some way or another. Enjoy your flavor-less, smell-less, dank-ness.
