New Grower Cold temps plus low humidity = yellow leaf tips? (UPDATE: Pic on page 2)

Right there is your problem. Having a really high ph of 9.1 to bottom down to 5.5 is a drastic and sudden change that will sicken any plant. You have to use gradual adjustments of ph up and down and never more than once in a 24 hour period. Keep your water stable between 5.5 - 6.1 and keep your water temperature at 70 degrees or below. It is best to keep your Ph at the optimal levels BEFORE starting. Good luck sir!

Ahhh interesting. So I've been adjusting the ph from 9ish to 5.5 and then using this water pretty much immediately after adjustment.

That said, I'm moving to this RO water I found. Its a dispenser that charges $1.25 for 5 gallons so long as you bring your own 5 gal container. I just started using this water, which was ph ~7 and 20ppm about 36 hours ago. Its now at ph 5.8, which is much more stable than my tap water. Hoping this will solve a lot of my issues.

Here is a pic of the seedling at day 8/9:

Note the tip is just barely yellowing. She keeps growing everyday, though seemingly a bit slow. This is the farthest I've gotten with a plant yet, so I want to keep her happy and healthy!

If it's just the tip's, I would say your mixing you'r nutrient solution a little to hot I would be between 1/8 to 1/4 of the suggested strength....
this schedual is about rite... I would start out with the lower #'s then by the end of each phase try to be at the larger #....

Seedlings, Early Sprouts 100 to 250

Early Vegging 300 to 400

Full Vegetation 450 to 700

Early Blooming 750 to 950

Full Mature Blooms 1000 to 1600

Got it, thanks so much for the info. So could my water having 220ppm have thrown things off? There were no nutes whatsoever for the first 7 days, and the tips turned yellow long before I introduced any yesterday.

Sounds like my crappy tap water needs to stay out of the equation. Glad I found RO water for $0.25 / gallon.

could hava thats alot of minerals.220 i thought you said 20.......ro makes it a little simpler.

Yeah I thought my ppm and ph meters were broken when I first got them. My initial read of 9.1 and over 200ppm made me think something was wrong. But it's consistently read that way over the last 3 weeks.

I hope the RO gets me straightened out.

RO water is notorious for needing cal-mag supplementation if your nutes are not quite covering it.

Noted. I have GH CaliMagic which I believe is a cal-mag supplement. I'm using 5ml in 2.5 gallons right now. That's about 1/3 strength. Should I use more? Less?
