Hello, new to the site, and the wealth of knowledge here.
I am trying to put together a light for a 3x3 space using some Lm301 h-b-c strips full spectrum, not sure on spectrum as the seller offers a few but around 3500-4500,
I have managed to find some sellers from poking around , the store I’m looking at sells kits, or individual parts, light strips from one place, heat sinks from another , driver from another, can get the aluminum angle stock , thermal tape , potentiometer , wagos and all wire and odds and ends local, there are a few YouTube channels that seem to have some of the info. It seems to build ( what do you call them?) commercial style fixtures, the info is limited, if anyone has any links, info, parts sellers or just a shoulder to lean on once I get started, or just some direction , it would be much appreciated
Thanks

Hey Now,
Been building lights for a while now. What do you have in mind? I just finished some QB288s and a special supplement strip. Let me know.

Hi, thanks for the reply, so I’m looking to put together 300+ watts spread out into a 3x3, , it’s tough because a can buy a 240w with Samsung Lm301h +ir-uv, with a meanwell 240 dimmable delivered for 120$ us, which is kinda unbeatable, for just a little more I can build it , these are some of the design ideas and parts I’m looking at, any thoughts,or direction on different parts or kits sellers

Cool!
Are you set with the tools and skills to put it together?
I bought my red and blue strips from that guy on eBay. The strips I got are nice but I can’t vouch for the regular spectrum stuff.
Have you sketched out the array you would build? So many questions, but if you can get that then it’s just picking stuff out!
One more, have you considered Quantum Boards?

Hi, yes, I’m actually running a 150w Mars qb style, that’s kinda where I’m torn, I can buy a 240w Samsung lm301diodes (either b or c)with a dimmable 240 meanwell for 124$ or best offer delivered, I mean the prices are getting silly
But yes schetched out a 6 strip 32” needs to fit a 3x3 with a couple inches around each side, I’m looking at growdadys strips, actually found drivers and heat sinks a little cheaper from another guy, but I mean that 1st guy has the kit I want for like 180-200, do I build do I buy, I love diy stuff but it’s kinda tough ya know, price wise , this new tech has come WAY down

First pic looks like the diy bars from growdaddyleds.

I have mixed feelings about him. I got the 160w 4 bar kit first.

Was super easy to setup and I absolutely love it for my 2*2.

Then I got the 600w 14 bar kit.

This kit has a lot of problems.

#1. Not enough adapters.
#2. The screws that come with it are complete shit.
#3. The design isn't very strong the middle supports don't support the weight of the light properly. Should be used as two seperated 7 bar lights.

Still I don't regret my purchase, it's still cheap less than $600 for a 14 bar 600w fixture that just beautifully lights a 4*4.

Hey,
Thanks for the feedback. I have only purchased a few strips and heat sinks from him. Those were good. I don’t know if I’d purchase a kit though, but then again I like to build my own stuff.

Ugh, so my tent is beyond ready to flip, been just chopping back until I could get more light, ended up just buying one off eBay, the seller could not tell me the actual wattage, but title states 4000watts

could anyone take a look at the board and drivers and guess a true wattage, diodes are Samsung Lm301h I think, might be 480,maybe 400, any guesses, thanks in advance AE0A54FD-43DB-4D4F-8539-1C958516B51B.png2EDD9E5E-8B56-4B96-BDBC-6918EF68AB6F.pngit seems kinda big for the price but meh, need light

Basically four 120 watt qb style lights. Actual watts consumed should be 400-480 range by the drivers. Drivers and heat sink look ok, could always upgrade the boards later too.

Thanks Willie, yep, that’s ab what I figured, I’ll prolly have to dim it down or hang it high, a little bit overkill for my 3x3, these sellers have decent deals but can’t answer any questions about the lights
