Hi all,

So I tried and failed to germ my seed this weekend and as I am going on holiday in the beginning of February this grow is going to have to wait until after that unfortunately... if I could have started it last weekend I would have had just enough time but it was just not meant to be...

Silver lining is that I can now tweak and perfect my case.. First order of business is the fan controller. Tested it and after 20 mins my case was up to 30 degrees...

The fan controller I bought is absolutely terrible... It was meant for a home hi-fi cabinet and takes USB fans so had to get son 4pin fan to USB converters for my Noctua's.

AC Infinity CONTROLLER 2

Plug them in and on full power you can barely even feel the air flow if your hand is right up against it...

It is so hard to find a PC fan controller that doesn't need to be plugged into a PSU so was wondering if any of you guys have any suggestions of ones you use?

Thanks in advance!

Therein lies the problem, the USB fans are 5V (as per the USB Specification) while your Noctua PC fans are supposed to be run on 12V. Running them even without the controller at 5V is less than half power.

So to run proper PC fans you will need some sort of 12V power supply. However you don't need a big bulky one like a PC does. The fans are fairly low power and you can expect to run (up to 4) off of a 1A+ supply. (you can check the power consumption in amps of everything you want to run and just add them all up - then add a half again as a saftey margin << well that's the way I estimate safe power).

So a (your voltage) AC to 12V DC transformer that can deliver at least 1Amp is what your after.

I use something like this to run 4 120mm PC fans (not in a PC case).

or you could even use one of these
