Covering the smell

Ok this might be a dumb question but how do you guys cover/counteract the smell when using infused oils for say lotions and stuff? My gf and I make infused lotions for people and some complain about the "weed" smell...any way to cover that up besides using a lot of essential oils to mask it or is it just a case of that's how it is?

You can water cure your cannabis before infusing. That will take a lot of color and taste/smell out of your material.
THC and CBDs are not water soluble so it doesn't effect potency.

Another question on this...is this done in place of standard cure or after a normal cure?

I have done it both ways...already cured or fresh cut buds.
There are a few ways to dry after a water cure...I really watch for mold while drying.
I have not done the oven method of drying after a water cure but theoretically you could decarb while you dry your buds.
Decarbing is not necessary for trandermal application, but tinctures and edibles made with water cured buds can have a cleaner taste (for those tho don't like the canna taste).
