Lighting Critical Kush/Coco/GN Rebels/Airpots

Day 50

The screen is about 50-60% full so I think one more week, maybe two of vegging and then I'll flip them to flower. I've upped the TNT, root complex and cal/mag.
The deficiency I had was a calcium deficiency which is hopefully fixed now. Other than that nothing's happened, they're just continuing to grow and fill that screen. Temps are good and steady, humidity is spot on, e.c is slowly rising but it's to be expected, p.h is also spot on.
I did a final bit of trimming from the under canopy last night, just took the branches that hadn't quite reached the screen yet, hopefully I won't have to do anymore when they're flowering.

I'll have to upload some pics when Iv finished work, I tried last night but my computer was having none of it

Hi Tarzan! :)

Looking good mate - did you sort out that possible deficiency? The picture wont blow up for me but an EC of 0.8 at day 37 i'd say 0.8 EC is a good bit too low - so any lighter colouring is probably down to a under feeding.

As a buddy once told me - "Feed em up!" (Mr Ganjamoto didn't get much wrong with his growing hehe)

The coco should be fed with a minimum of 0.8 ec (for seedlings) i'd expect you to be somewhere around the 1.6+ EC by now.

I've tried a new method recently which has worked like a charm (it's a bit of a faff early on, but you soon get used to it)

Start your seedlings on 0.8 and EVERY feeding go up by 0.1ec keep going up until you see a tip burn and then back down. I imagine you'll get somewhere close to 2.0 ec by the time you see a tip burn on an auto.

I've been testing this on a photo period (i've got it up to 3.3 ec before i got a burn - i know, that's pretty hefty and you'd never want to feed an auto that high (the breeders said she was a heavy feeder))

Well hope i'm not teaching grandma to suck eggs hehe, but just thought i'd drop my thoughts in here!

Keep rocking it Tarzan ^_^

Hey Blue, thanks for the advice! Iv been a bit wary about upping the e.c too quickly because the autos that Iv grown have been very sensitive. This is my first photo grow so just wanted to take things slowly. Iv been upping the e.c at a more rapid rate recently though and they seem to be ok with it so il carry it on.

That deficiency was definitely a calcium deficiency, the leaf went really spotty with rusty spots but I think it's sorted now.

I think il be doing another photo run after this so il make sure I take everything what you've said on board, and apply it next time

I'm finding just raising the lights is really helping with calmag def at the moment.
Hmm, my lights are pretty low (18" from canopy). I'll put it a bit higher when I get home. Thanks for the tip!

Well, after a telling off from blue the other day I upped the e.c by 0.1 and as a result they're on max nutes! Also raised my light, it's now at 21"

I decided to switch to flowering today, the screen is around 65-70% full and I don't know what the pre-flower stretch on these is like so I thought I'd play it safe. Gave them both their last dose of veg nutes yesterday and will start on the flowering nutes tomorrow."Stirring"

Now I have a question (particularly for anyone with scrog experience). After switching to 12/12, should I continue to tuck the plants under the screen? Or do I just let them do their thing? I imagine it's the latter.

Thanks in advance for your help! :Sharing One::peace:

Day 60/4

I can't believe how crazy the pre-flower stretch is! I thought it would be some fairly monstrous growth but this is ridiculous. I don't suppose anyone knows how long it usually lasts for do they? I know every plant is different but a rough estimate would be good, I'm not sure there's gonna be much room if they carry on like this for much longer.

On a lighter note, they had their first dose of flowering nutes today (gave them a flush with plain, ph'd water last feed) so I'm looking forward to seeing how these buds start to develop. There's a slight scent coming from both plants too, not quite a kush smell yet but it's getting there. Here's a pic. All the pics I took apart from this one came out really blurry when I put them on my computer, so apologies if anyone wanted more, il try and get some tomorrow.

I've never scrogged before but it seems like you may want to get in there and gently help some of that growth through to the other side of the screen...positioning it in a manner that spreads things out for light to be able to hit everything equally...Nice density going on there, that's for sure. I LOL'd on the "carrying on" bit....:)
