Harvest & Curing Curing large amounts

Have used a medium sized non working lift lid freezer in the basement... it would cure in there ok... like a big humidor... people will pay you to get rid of them... check your humidity levels regularly & keep it clean as you can... don't put anything in there too wet... if you have batches in it that are different levels of humidity in the same space they will try to equalize & some of the taste will transfer between strains... but it worked great... it is not a drying box...

Yep that's a . Shit ton of weed.

m-be You Could use Garbage bags to get The RH down Then Put it in a air tight container

thanks everyone for the input 5 gallon pails I think would work and would be easier to handle than the big ones I have a few of them to get started with I use them to make beer so they are food grade.

I use 5 gallon buckets to cure large amounts. They can hold about 1 lb. each without overfilling. I use the ones from Lowes, without the rubber seals. I've found that by only pressing down on one spot on each side of the lid will leave a small gap on the other two sides. This gap allows the gases to escape while keeping the moisture content stable. I remove the lids daily and "fluff" up the contents to allow fresh air to all the buds. Once they are cured I vacuum pack them in 1/4, 1/2 or 1 lb. quantities.

Well shit, I misread that one. Assumption is the mother of all, well you know the rest. Nice outdoor harvest I suppose, beautiful! I am lost there bro, I suppose you could invest in some 55 gallon stainless drums. I have seen those with the clamp on lids and rubber seals but they are expensive as all get out. $700 each. If you wanted to go on the cheap, you could use 30 gallon food grade plastic containers. Those are about $40 each and are lab grade.

It would seem to me that, the larger the container, the bigger the risk of mold. Your stacking buds three feet deep ( WOOOOO!!! ) in a barrel, the airflow is going to be poor. I'd build a long and low wooden box ( or maybe 2 or three...lol ), screwed and glued to be airtight and a bunch of Boveda packs

I'd only half fill a 5 gallon bucket, you need a good airspace to maintain proper humidity with that much curing bud or they'll mould / rot
