Extraction Day off Cooking

Not sure if AFN has heard of this: http://magicalbutter.com/

But I purchased one recently and it just shipped to my place. It's basically just a self-contained cooker for butter/oil/tincture. It will decarb, grind, maintain your desired temperature, and cook for the time corresponding to the buttons you press. Being a student, and a guy with limited space, I'd say it was worth it for me. I have only made oil on the 1 hour setting (160F), but haven''t gotten a chance to cook with it yet since I swiftly had to jet outta town for the weekend... For you guys interested in heavy QUANTITY, it is probably an unwise purchase.

I will get some pics up once I get home. I tried their recipe of 1 cup coconut oil, 1 cup olive oil, and about a half oz of some Northern Lights I had recently procured. I hope it turns out alright. They recommend between 4-8grams per cup of oil, depending on how strong you like it -- so I tried to go for the higher end to be safe :). Sure looks green anyway lol.

I'm a neewwwb at baking....so I'm starting small with my Betty Crocker Brownie Mix --- but I will hopefully work my way up from here!...

Anyone have experience with this thing?

I have seen it and been curious, seems small tho. Keep us posted.

Look for Duncan Hines chewy fudge browie mix, it uses 3/4 cup of oil.

:peace:

Yeah I figured it'd be too small for you guys, ha ha! It fits probably a similar amount of volume as a large tea kettle (since you aren't supposed to fill it to the very top -- there are MIN and MAX lines inside). For my purposes, as a lazy university student who sometimes has a hard time cleaning up after himself, it should hopefully do the trick!..lol

I'll get a chance to do some more experimenting when I get some more buds to work with. Will be reportin' back soon!!

Thanks for the heads up on the recipe!
