Grow Room Debating 3x3 vs 2 1/2 × 5 for first geow setup

Hmm well I had planned on a 3x3, ac infinity t4 and the XS2000 for first grow setup, but I ran into a 2 1/2 × 5 × 6 1/2 tent at my local hydro store and really like the size.

I dont believe the t4 and xs2000 will be adequate for the larger tent? What might be a more adequate light?

I think the t4 will be fine for either but who makes the xs2000? I'm unfamiliar with it by model number only.

If you did the 3x3 I think they would both be fine. If you go with the narrow but longer tent you may want to look at the MarsHydro TSL2000 or their SP3000. They have a long rectangular shape opposed to the square panel. Just a thought.

Im not super familiar with the ViparSpectra lights. MarsHydro sales rep is very active on here. Just my bit.

@Sinner Welcome to AFN You will need two of those lights to cover the 2.5x5 tent.



If you cannot afford that now. go for the tent you like best and add another light later. You will still be able to grow the same number of plants to start - 2 max.

I use the viparspectra p2000 the xs has better leds and driver I believe and there are huge discounts on all there lights right now ( uk that is ), I was gonna sell mine on flea bay and upgrade to a Mars hydro, but now they really dropped the prices it’s not worth selling. P2000 is nearly £100 cheaper right now. I have not used any other lights so have no comparison, but my led did it’s job and helped me achieve well over half pound with one plant. BUT do check out the Mars hydro range as there similar prices . You could get more watts from the wall at the same price or less than the viparspectras. Lil bit of food for thought.

If you go for the longer tent, I suggest that you use two lights for better light distribution over the length of the tent. Having a couple lights also allows you to lower or raise just one to adjust to different plant behaviour.

Looks like a nice loadout. I would suggest looking into the type 67 controller for the AC Infinity fan. Are you getting the fan with the humidity and temperature controller? It works really well. I have one and love it. However, it will not run continously on low speed. The newer controller, the "67", allows you to always have the fan running, even on speed 1, and then ramp up to control temp or humidity.

Both parameters are programmable. Takes a little fiddling but is easily one of my favorite tent components.
