New Grower Demineralised water vs distilled

Hey, does anyone have info on what diff is between demineralised water and distilled water?
Is there a diff in ph? Which one is best for autos?
Any help with this appreciated.

Distilled water is best for autos.Just goggle either one and it will explain the difference, I looked it up and they both sound the same to me.

one is distilled (boiled) and the other is done by draining through a bed... similar out puts... although distilled makes the most sense... it is sterile pure water... with no possible additives.

Hey thanks, seems dumb to ask just I tried buyin distilled water today went to several major hardware and food chains but could only find demineralised on the shelf. May be dumber to ask but I suppose I can boil my own water right rather than having to buy it?

:tip: not a lamo thread... its good to see people asking intelligent questions. :gthumb:

you'd need to "distill" you own water... not just boil it...
if you arent sure how... it might be better to find a source..

have you checked your local grocer? they usually carry distilled for irons and other uses where water with minerals will mess them up.

if neither of those pan out... you might be better capturing rain water...

I'll also add that there are ways to build solar stills also... many simple methods... but you need to understand the physica of it... and environment is, of course, always a factor.

Yeah I've got plenty of rain water stored, but when I tested ph was like 7.3. I thought should be lower than that?
I found when I mix my nutes at a quarter strength it brings the ph back to 6.4.
I was trying to source distilled for every other water. I'm currently growing ak49 and green poison, both seem a little slow but my first real effort so will be patient.
Do you think I could get away with feeding at every water? Or would this be overkill?

I collect water from my air conditioning unit, as it basically is a crude distillery.... I have a heat pump and live where its HOT all the time. My A/C condenses about 5 gallons every two days (even in December).. It is VERY consistent at 20 ppm and a ph of 6.3. Oh yeah, and its FREE !(well sorta). You can see my results in the photoperiod section. I use this water for my larger soil plants and also in my bubble cloner.

I feed once a week... bu ultimately it depends on your feed strength, where you are in the grow cycle, etc etc... thats a fairly generalized question.. :smokebuds:
