Old Reviews Different feeding system

Yea mate mine has 4 11litre pots but i can use 18l pots if i wanted too.
There are 2 different 4 pot models one where the 4 pots are nearly touching each other.
And the other where theres about 8 inches between the pots- this ones better as the plants have more room to grow.
The water can last for a week easily- but when you have 4 large plants like 3 foot plus they can drink the res dry in 3-4 days but thats only really around week 7-9 with autos

Thanks for info, great!
Now just tell me it's the same as Autopots and tomorrow I go buy this. So need coco/perlite or claypebbles, 1x airpump, 4x airdomes... anything else?
Sorry, I only know how to grow in soil, that's why so many questions.

Hold on mate- the autopot and wilma are quite different. An autopot is an individual pot (or you can buy them in pairs) that are gravity fed from a big drum like resevoir.
Theres a small tray on the bottom of the pots with a ballcock type device that keeps it topped up- the plants are bottom fed.
So the coco or soil wickes up the water to feed the roots. So you cant use clay pebbles in that system- just a small layer on the bottom around the airdome. Then coco for the top 3/4 of the pot. @Wile e Peyote is this right? Ive never even seen autopots before

The wilma works with four pots sitting on top of a 50litre res. Theres a pump in the res that pumps the feed from below through 4mm pipes that drip onto the top of the pot.
The water runs down through the pots and the excess water falls through holes back into the res. You can use soil coco or claypebbles with this res (i prefer clay pebbles) you dont use air domes with the wilma but a small air pump and airstone is good to keep the res airated

Confusing? Lol its really just what suits you better. I would advise getting a ph and ppm meter whatever way you decide to go.
And nutrients for your chosen media.

Thank you @sanguine !! Now I understand more. Sellers here where I live don't give you any informations, they just sit there and say "look and buy, I don't care what you want".
Hmmm... really can't decide what to buy. Now I reading your journal, currently at page 25. Tomorrow I'll finish. Interesting reading and seein pictures of monsters.

Any other members... see first post and answer please, if you have some experience. Thanks all!

Glad i could help mate! Theres a whole autopot section and some great growers over there. Very few wilma users around here apart from me and @Itisi

@sanguine Has covered pretty much every thing with the Wilma.

The problem I have/ had, was the 4 monsters the Wilma would produce fill the tent very quickly. I've switched to aqua farm at the moment, another drip feed system for single plants. I'm growing 2 per tent now, rather than 4. The Wilma will be used in summer for a run of photo proof cuttings.

The more I read, the more I want buy Wilma instead of Autopots.
As I see, I can use soil, coco, clay pebbles and rockwool with Wilma. That is perfect to comparing different mediums - Wilma has 4 pots, so I can test 4 different mediums at once.

Can someone recommend me airstone and airpump for Wilma? With numbers, I will buy here where I live.

@Itisi @sanguine is there any minus (-) with Wilma? Except small tray (50L).

Yep.

Running different strains can be awkward because all the pots share a reservoir.

Even with the same strain I've had problems with plants wanting different nute levels.

Itisi
it is isn't it?

Just read that again.

4 different mediums sharing a reservoir is asking for problems.

To start with, clay pebbles like a good soaking, coco doesn't.

The hydro solution would be too strong for the soil, the soil would throw out your ph and clog your system.

The flood emitters you use on some mediums would rob all the flow from the drip emitters on the other mediums.

Yea what itisi said! Need to stick with one medium.
Im on mobile so cant post links- if you can use amazon or ebay- just type in aquarium pump and buy one of the cheap ones. Theyre about 10-15 quid uk money, then order a 50mm golf ball shape airstone or a 4 inch disc shaped one.
