So I know its not nice to post a grow with out pictures but I will have pictures when it pops the surface. The grow is part of a perpetual set up I am starting. I am about to harvest a Red Dwarf from Buddha seeds, I have another that just started to flower and about 3 weeks from now I will start another plant in the tent. I also just got a 4x4 tent for my light. I am using a 600W HPS. Its a little small for the size of the tent and I have some tings to work out but the grow should turn out good. My medium if any one is familiar with my current and past grows is an organic mix I am working on. Figuring out how to do a super soil style of growing similar to the way Subcool grows photos with a veg and a bloom layer. I veg in a #2 nursery pot tell week 3 or 4 depending on what the plant looks like and either will be going to a #7 pot or a 5 to 6 gallon bucket. I am currently using #15 pots but I don't feel I need that large of a pot.
My soil recipe as of now which will be different next time I mix soil is as of now and for this grow... 1 bag of roots organic soil with 1/2 a #1 nursery pot full of steer manure, 1/4 cup of lime added and 1/8 cup of green sand because I mixed up my totes and started putting it in before I noticed it was not my bloom mix. Seed is started in this mix in a #2 nursery pot. The soil is cooked for at least 2 weeks before being used.
The bloom mix as of now is 1 bag of roots organic soil, 1/4 a #1 nursery pot full of steer manure, a full #1 nursery pot full of mushroom compost, 1/2 cup of bat guano, 1/4 cup kelp meal, 1/8 cup green sand "Was suppose to be 1/4 cup" 1 table spoon Epsom salt, 1 teaspoon humic acid and cooked for at least 30 days. Only bottled water the whole grow. The finishing pot is filled 50/50 with each mix.
I thought at first that 1/2 cup of guano might be too much but it is only 2 table spoons per pot. If I use 2.5 gallons of bloom soil in the pot. Its a little over 1 teaspoon of guano per gallon of soil in the pot.
I only use bottled water the whole grow. So far I am having good success with the manure in my veg mix. It last a long time and I am having to cut back a lot from my last grow as it works so well I don't see a nitrogen fade late in flower and am hoping this time I will. I also found how to be consistent with my tweaking of the mix. If I grow different strains every time I will be changing to what the last plant I grew in it required. I started this mix using Red Dwarf from Buddha seeds which is an amazing strain and seams so far to be pretty stable so every mix I will grow 1 Red Dwarf with each batch of soil so I have a reference point to my changes. I still have 2 seeds of the strain left and will be ordering some more soon with some other stuff and will be acquiring some more bags of soil soon.
I have never grown a auto version of cheese before so I hope it turns out good. My nitrogen on this mix is a little high but not bad so next time I mix soil I will be doing 1/3 of a #1 pot of manure in my veg mix with maybe 3 table spoons of lime. Hope you guys enjoy the grow.
