Seconds after I posted my last post I got an email from RapidLED. Heart rate increased with excitement and... 10% discount off my order. So I bit the bullet...

ChilLED Logic 4' x 4' LED Grow kit
comprising of:​

8 x ChilLED Logic Pucks V2 (LM301B) mix of 3k, 4k & reds.
8 x 140mm pin heatsinks
2 x MeanWell HLG-320H-C1750B drivers
8 x Thermal pads
2 x Cased potentiometer's with knobs
2 x Power cords
14 x WAGO connectors
20' (each) 18 AWG solid core red and black wire
1 x Canopy substrate with 41" rail sets, 2 x driver mounts and hanging kit.



I know some of you are probably laughing at me right now, at how keen I must be... and to be fair I'm laughing with you.... but with excitement and anticipation.


First things first... Lets say a HUGE thank you to @Slater for recommending them and bringing them to my attention.

I decided on this rig for many reasons, of which I'll simply list rather than explain in detail:

1. @Slater recommended them (have you seen his grows!).
2. Growmau5 developed them.
3. They comprise of a mix of Samsung 3k and 4k LM301B diodes with added 660nm deep reds. Overall temp is 3060K.
4. Efficacy is stated at 2.35 Umol/J. Migro tested it and came in at 2.07 at 100W and 2.16 at 60W. 8 run on 2 HLG-320 drivers should be 75W so around 2.1.
5. 8 spread out over the frame will give the spread I was after and hopefully much deeper penetration .
6. With the discount I managed to get them at £100 over my budget but compared to the QB96's I get waaaaaaaaay more.

So that's it peeps.... Next Mephisto is gonna be interesting!

So I stumbled across a thread earlier which surprised me. The topic involved Biotabs and AutoPots. It certainly perked my interest as I could completely automate my grow and give my garden carer even less to worry about (no more pH EC calcs and monitoring).
You see I was under the impression (until I read the BioTabs site) that you'd have to top feed when using BioTabs? Aparantly not!!!

When I say it "could completely automate my grow", my idea was to plumb a toilet syphon to my res so it would always be full. If I then added a large air stone to the bottom with my water pump it should get rid of most of the chlorine in the water and stop it from becoming stangnat.

Of course the other HUGE added bonus... ORGANIC BUD!

So... @Biotabs F69 and @Hippy_BiotabsF70 I have a couple of questions for you:

• I'm in the SW UK. EC ranges from 0.1 to 0.3 straight from the tap. I'll be running LED's which are known to be CalMag thieves. Would I still need to add CalMag to my res or is there another way to combat this?
• What's the likelihood you're doing a 420 sale this year?

Super keen to try this out next run with the new ChiLED pucks...

I also got an email saying my shiny new lights are being held in customs...
Praying they're nice to me... but also being paranoid... it's been there for 3 days so far... what if... why's it taking so long...

My garden carer popped in last night fir a quick check and sent me some picks. I gotta day, I'm super impressed with their size and structure. Particularly liking tbe look of Toof Decay and Fantasmo Express...

They've well outdone my expectations but the best bit is they've all been left to their own devices pretty much.
Had a few hiccups here and there but I've learnt a lot again.

Still waiting on the Logic picks to clear customs. I hope they're through by the end of this coming week

Also waiting on BioTabs to get back to me. I'm super keen to get them.

Hopefully my next run will be fully automated with no need to open the tent and disturb the environment at all
