I have noticed a lot of folks having humidity trouble this winter. I am too. I decided to build a multi use system that could be used as a room scale humidifier, a propagation humidity tent, fogponics reservoir, or as a source of fog for a mushroom fruiting chamber. All of these things are now possible at casa Green Gene.
The first run worked, the humidity controller kicks it on and off when it goes within ten of my set RH level. It does require filling every day. (more on that later) I set a fan behind it to push the fog through to the plants. It kept the humidity up around 50 for 12 hours.
I bought a
$100.00 ten head ultra sonic fogger with a separate power supply.
$2.00 5 gallon tote
I was not impressed with the delivery of fog, so here is the second go around.
$7.00 I replaced the tote with a 17 gallon
$20.00 added a waterproof intake fan
$11.00 added a voltage regulator/fan controller
$5.00 added a 4 inch exhaust elbow
$1.00 some bits of wire
$1.00 Glue
total cost: $147.00 (all on amazon)
You can buy a humidifier cheaper, but not a sterile fog multi use greenhouse tool like this.
The fogger I am using is a flat brick shaped one, and does not float. There is another one for the same price that is round, and comes with a float. It would be better because you can fill the rez, and it floats at the right water level for optimum fog production. Mine requires me to fill it every day. The water cannot go more than a few inches over the fogger.

So here it is in finished condition, I popped the fuse plugging it in hot, like a dumbass. But it works, I saw the fan spin for sec, and even without the intake fan, fog is coming out better than the first box. Once I get a new fuse, I will post a video of it in action.
