Beer traps are the best for slugs. Put a saucer of beer near your plants and they will swarm to it. Get drunks and die.

I get those huge ass green caterpillars on my tomatoes and peppers, and yes they can totally clean off a full grown plant of it's leaves in a day. Short enough time that ya can completely miss it till it's too late and on to another plant

I pulled six of these buggers off my half stripped tomato's and a Habanero plant last week. They suddenly were there like a herd. After about the third the rest resisted more by holding on tighter with the biggest one actually rearing up its front quarter and curling its head downward like a question mark waving it side to side. Pretty good bluff for a helpless bug. It did make it look a bit threatening. I wish I had gotten a picture.
