Lighting Does 24/0 lighting reduce odour?

The reason I ask is I completed a grow of three autos (FastBud#2, AKR, Fruit) which pretty much stunk from week 4/5 when I dropped from 24/0 to 20/4. This time around, 4 autos on 24/0 right through (AKR, White Widow, Diesel, Cropical) and there's barely been any smell until flowering had cracked on a bit in week 7. Smells stronger now but not like first grow.

Admittedly different strains but I was reading about terpene production being stimulated by dark periods. Any thoughts?

That's new to me but I read that terpenes are produced at night In greater amounts than during the day, so this would make sense of your theory.

That has not been my experience.
I have been running 24/0 on all my personal auto grows for the last 3-4 years.
Some smell strong, some don't.

24/0 all the way energy is what autos need not sleep.My personal experience is that most strains have a heavy smell but for some reason some really potent strains have next to no smell I have seen them growing. I have never had a strain that does not stink but have had strains that when cured lose there smell.

Good to have you both confirm a preference for what I've pretty much decided on in future, let there be light and let it be 24/0!

i personally belive 24/0 reduces odour! i got my tent in my basement, when i open the basement door straight after dark period ( runnin 20/4 ) i can smell weed once i open the door.. but when i open the door before night period, i smell nothing... but hey thats just me!

Never heard of this but I must say I like it. You can fool any electric company and still let both the plants and your gear get some rest..

I like the idea of 24/7 but I dont like the idea of never letting lights and fans get some rest.. I will keep this in mind

Terpenes need their darkness, I'm quite sure a whole heap of it at the end of the week is sufficient- just like us, most of us break at the weekend... As for the light/odour thing, well I see it live us again, we sweat and we tend to sweat mostly at night...and stink in the morning after sunrise... If you take going to sleep out of the equation then you should just smell average . Therefore I think max light makes a difference in odour just don't forget about the other stuff i.e terpenes
