New Grower donkeykong's grow cabinet

So IDK conversion rates and we can add on a little electric and water, the way I see it 5 seeds lose one. Four plants to get a couple of oz and the rest is gravy. You got this.....

Plus with them turntables you could scratch em and be DJ MJ known world wide for makin weed sing. You will be famous soon enough....

:peace: grow your own

Have you heard of gorilla arm phenos? You should grow one for fun, you know like people who have pets that look like them.:D

:peace:

had not heard of it before but looked it up, did have to hunt but I found some pics, nice looking plant and it seems well liked. One for the shopping list next time cheers for that :)
just ordered another couple turntables and one more cfl...

ordered a couple more turntables that arrived today, so adjusted the setup a little. they are rated for only 2Kg max so the unit spinning the three pots was sticking sometimes. Now 3 of them have their own turntable and the other two share one.
Took out the CFL for now as Im switching on the full LED brightness, clusters, also raised the lamp a little just to be cautious, and also let them grow and reach for the light again.

so far so good, and 2 weeks in already, cant believe these autoflowers will be finished and done in only another 6 or 7 weeks!

duuude,

I had a great time reading the whole report!
I pretty much see myself in your posting. Everyday some news and unstopable for improvement!
Was thinking about those turntables too, but my space is too tight, as those turntables available over here are somethink like 25cm wide...

Kepp it up my man, I'm subbed!

Cheers, lb

ps: I calculate my money spent on the grow like once in a week, because every day there is something new I want to order!!!
ps2: A like bomb has hit your thread and some max :slap: has hit your face :vibe:

thanks lowbudge!

Yes I have to admit reading through your post and admiring the workmanship and thinking god this man is like me. a mcgyver type with a garage full of stuff and a bunch of MDF to get busy with. I used to work for the german engineering company (the big S) , came quite few times to berlin, and have a sound appreciation for german engineering. So I smiled when I read a420er's comment.
Im always tinkering with something or another, so many crazy projects. Done everything from making my own cnc machine in the garage to writing code that creates airfoil contours.... Its kinda fun cos I can do the electronics plus the SW and then there is the mechanical stuff too.

Really I been having so much fun putting my stuff together on this project. Its quite basic really for now, but it had to be as I slapped it together within days to get into the comp. But good solutions are not necc. complicated ones right? so seems to be doing OK :)
..then it gives me some time to learn some things, go round the cycle once and think about the "v2"

About the turntables I used what I could find and the choice was not so good. if you search for motorised or rotating display table so can find some options. Few are made for jewellery or watches etc, others for slightly larger items, like mines. Each tables takes up to 2KG. larger ones are available but the prices start getting prohibitive. For now its Ok thes ones but I would had preferred something with bit more weight capacity. Also I will have to see how long the battery lasts, it could be months but lets see (it uses 2 C cells). Otherwise I can mod them for mains.

But next time I think I will just build them from scratch, much cheaper and then you can get what you want. My plan is to have multiple tables side by side mounted on a base. They will spin on shafts with bearings and have a gear or pulley on the other side. All the tables can then be driven together from a stepper motor, which we can put together a simple ckt to control a very slow and steady rotation. In my case I was hooked on the small timelapse video I posted earlier, so I would like to "v2" that also and capture more of the action, all if I can :) If its rotating this time, you wont see the detail of each leaf growing, but something else maybe looks good to grow as it rotates. With a stepper motor in there, and something to sync rotational position, change to white light and snap the camera, then I think it will be quite interesting. It means I can return to home and build the static images, but also snap another sequence with the plant rota-growing... hmm! :)

you could make something custom also if you wanted. just need to decide your turntables sizes, position and weight capacity, then the drive mechanism and figure a motor. stepper is easy to control sloooow.

coming along well, they definitely look "healthy" at least a far a me, rookie can tell. Afghan Mass is out there growing the fastest now, seems more in line with the progress some of the Think Different or other plants on the comp thread have made. 60 Day wonder has really started into its stride after a modest start.

haha bro, not much time to answer as I'm on my way to work, but youre damn right!
maybe the turntables will be my next project, but for now I have to finish the cabine, and filter that smell.
(as they hit the end of their lifes, the smell is quite intense atm and my old carbonfilter doesnt work well)

Cheers, lb

Heres a rough outline of what im exploring at the moment in regards v2..... Im thinking deep water culture, but it will complicate things further.. I have to rethink lighting since the turntables are not easy to feed with power and air etc. Having said that with the custom turn tables there is no need to keep going round and round, I can just manage a +-180 degree rotation and ping pong between. Yes, that will help a lot.

Probably an arduino to drive the system, read the sensors, control the heating and gas levels. should be able to get some real monster results. Who knows when this comp is over I might try my hand with v2 for the world record yield from one plant or something. I wonder if that exists!

Did you make them revolving pots yourself mate ?
