New Grower donkeykong's grow cabinet

About a week on from receiving my seeds and rushing to get them soaking, things look coming along. Afghan Kush and Afghan Mass looks the prettiest right now, 60 day wonder is still unfurling its first leaves, Greenhouse is also. Anubis tilted off in one direction and grows quite sideways!

what size pots are you using btw? Yes, it will be interesting to see the difference, how it gets throttled in my smaller pot. For the comp I will select from these five the best and eventually end up with 2 in consideration to submit eventually 1 (assuming I make it that far lol, plenty time for a newbie screw up yet!)

thanks!! personally im quite chuffed with it for now, managed to go from zero eqpt in a week-ish I think. Plus an earlier week browsing around AFN of course. Would be fantastic to pull this off, cant wait for couple months time when I have these interesting strains to try.. Its like a whole new world to me and I like it :)

been out of town a couple days but the reducer did arrive earlier in the week so I was able to attach it to the outside of the cabinet and connect some 100mm ducting to get fresh air in from a window.
I'll get some latest pics of the plants up tomorrow, coming along nicely now. I must admit I adjusted them a little, since they were growing long, Anubis was leaning over to one side. Basically I "re-potted" them in a minimum disturbance way, by removing soil from the bottom of the pots, reseating the plants and covering up with more soil on top. Roots are not anywhere near the bottom of the pot yet so, I guesse it didn't disturb them too much. Seems to have worked well, they are growing away.

Mine are in 2-gal pots and there just over 2ft tall now its my first ever grow and have to say its a blast i don't think ill ever stop ha ha :thumbs:

Nice, love to see some pics of them. are you blogging your grow on afn?

got busy sorting out my turntables idea today. I had ordered two of these display turntables with mirror top finish. Battery operated, I'll see how they go on lifetime otherwise rig them to a mains adapter.

The idea is to set all 5 plants spinning on them for now, as the plants get further down the line and larger, I will select the best plants and reduce the turntable load until I have just two contenders, one on each turntable. The goal is to get a good light coverage without going mental on lighting and power consumption.

I built a couple of bases to seat the pots on, one with two positions , the other with 3 positions.

So these now sit on top of the two turntables and seat the pots ;

I added a 6400K 30W CFL that I have seen others using with good results. All the plants are now rotating past the CFL as well as between the LED beams from above.

So far the power draw is only 125W. The CFL is 30W and the Helios is 190W , but Im only using half its clusters right now (it has two switches so you don't need to have all on). Half the Helios runs with 95W plus the CFL , 125W , pretty good I think.
Later when I switch the entire Helios on , it will be 220W total lighting draw.

I might just add another CFL or two to improve side-lighting (as well as those LED tubes for under lighting) but again since the comp plants will rotate, I don't need so many, maybe just one or two. Lets see.
Looks pretty funky, I will upload a vid soon.
