Same to you buddy. some day when I get some land Ill be doing the same legal or not. Grow it the way nature intended. Cant beat it. for now tho a small tent and little plants is what I got to do. And constantly feeling like I got to watch my back.

The growing of cannabis is still illegal here in NY and will not be legal until 12 months after they release the full regulations for public sale(which is being slow walked at the moment). But the police will not harass home growers atm unless they have a hard-on for you already!
Im in a state that its only legal to smoke if you got a medical card and they have like 8 things that qualify. So stupid. There is no growing have to buy it from the government to be legal. They just made it legal to get flower. Otherwise you had to buy there carts for an outrageous price. And they sucked from what I herd. Wish they would just make it legal like Canada. so I dont have to feel like im a criminal for doing something that I love. And is not nearly as bad as alcohol. Know lots of people that have died or there life was ruined from being alcoholics. Its a real shame.
MRTA is the biggest bait and switch piece of legislation I've seen in a minute. The whole mindset of "we don't mind you eating, just don't let us catch you cookin in the kitchen" is horseshit. The OCM's last clerical error cost med patients their ability to home grow legally this season. It won't stop New Yorkers from doing their thing though.
Been living with similar restrictions here as well. The medical market is a joke. I used up indoor space to prep my outdoor photoperiods this spring, so it halted my production. My health conditions flared up while working the farm last month, so I made my first dispensary purchase and this is what the state of NY has to offer...

The only shop close to me does not actually "sell" cannabis, you join their "club" and purchase stickers, the stickers determine what "free" cannabis they give you.......
There are a few farmers market style pop-ups near me that vend products that slay what comes from the dispo's. Legacy and black market growers are the foundation of legal cannabis, and we'll never be run out no matter how many pounds of mids flood the market.
I read somewhere that 1% of the electricity in the country is now used to grow cannabis? It seems a lot of these big commercial operations suck up a tremendous amount of juice what with all those rows and rows of high powered lights , dehumidifiers , etc,etc now a homegrower like me who’s only growing a small number of plants, I notice my bill generally goes up an extra 50-60 dollars a month which isn’t terrible. And I get more enjoyment out of the growing process these days then the actual smoking! Plus I have family members who are going through chemo right now and I know they sure do appreciate my work! So it’s worth it to me . I feel like I’m doing a good thing , helping someone relieve a bit of suffering. In my state it is technically illegal right now for us to grow outside. I suppose you could do it in a greenhouse with a door that locks and that would be ok. I think maybe they should re-think this just for the reason of saving electricity! The sun doesn’t cost any extra money and it’s better! I’m not growing a shit ton of plants that would blow up the neighborhood. I have great neighbors who don’t have a problem with it , but I also treat them with respect . Keep my activity to just enough for me and my family. If I had 50 plants back here gassing out the whole neighborhood, they might feel different about it. I just wish I could give it a shot outdoors! Seems a lot more environmentally friendly to me! And as far as these huge commercial grows that are springing up now with legalization happening, it’s not going to be long before the reefer madness whack a doos start waving environmental impact studies around ! They are the ones with the big footprints. But I guess it’s going to be a pay to play money grab industry in my state. They seem to have forgotten the reason for legalization was to help people right? But all anyone can see are dollars . It’s kind of a shame. Anyways, wish I could try to grow a few out in the veggie garden! Heck they might not even make it with our cold, wet falls we have here but it might be fun to try!
The reason for legalization was to increase revenue to fund passion projects. They never wanted it legalized, they want it as a "controlled" money maker. Liquor and Cigarettes ain't legal, they severely restricted and controlled...to the point that they still throw people in jail. I love all the positivity in the cannabis community, but think overall we've been kind/nice to a fault. Open and Free Canabis has never even been on the table.
I dunno about the specific politics in Canada or anywhere else, but in USA we're stuck in a quagmire where red team still treats it like the devil and blue team treats it like a meal ticket. Shameful, the both of them. In hindsight walking down the "medical" path could be our collective undoing - medicine is the most over regulated thing we have in modern society. You need a daggon permission slip from someone who went to college for fifteen years to get medicine. In my opinion this whole thing is going to get way stupider before it gets better. Hope I'm wrong!!!
