Any one have experience using or are using the soil or nutes?? I really don't want to use Fox Farm any more. I can only get Fox Farm from one place local and every time it's loaded with fungus knats, that's why I went with hempy buckets. I feel a little quilt every time I use chem nutes..lol I think when I do get some soil I'm going to go ahead and get some predators to mix in my soil for those little bastard knats. I grow a garden every year and it's all 100% organic and for the life of me can't see why I would grow my meds with chemicals. I would like to be able to do organics and water with teas this time.

Dr. Earth makes great amendments for a good price. I use several of their products not only in my indoor garden but in my vegetable garden as well. I have never used their soil but if you are wanting to go completely organic I would humbly suggest to consider making your own soil. It is much cheaper, better quality and you have complete control over the nutrient profile in it. A little neem meal will bump up the N along with many micro-nutrients and help with insect related problems as well.

I am always available to help with it if you decide to give it a try and there are several others here creating their own soil with good results.

I actually used FD's guide the last time but my amendments I believe was old or something. After I got it all mixed together it smelt like dead sea creatures and I mean raaaaaank. I used a guide from icmag my first time but had ph issues but I was growing photos at that time. I want to be spot on with this mix with all the right amendments. I would also like to just use teas if possible.

I feel you on the teas, I am still in the process of dialing my soil in but at the moment I am not even using teas, just soil and rain water from beginning to end. Easy peasy is my goal.

Don't worry about the smells man, lol. My soil typically smells like I have dead bodies setting out in the garage the first couple of weeks. Keep turning it over and watering it and the smell will dissipate after a few weeks and begin to smell wonderful. My son grows also and the first time he smelled my soil cooking he swore he would never use it. He buys it from me by the gallons now. You are correct though, it is one of the worse smells imaginable in the beginning.

I wouldn't mind just watering. I really don't want to buy a whole nute line. I figure teas really during flowering. I'll read up on teas and stuff. I'm not growing any thing else till I get things in order. I WILL NOT use Fox Farm!!!!! I'm going to be using dr.earth amendments. Last time I used Epsoma products. I really can't understand why I left organics anyways. Once I figure out what base soil I want to use I'll get things on the role. Thanks man.

Can I buy some of your soil?

Can I buy some of your soil?

Hey Joe, I appreciate the idea but probably be best not to. The powers that be have that listed as a no-no in the terms of use. You can make it though, the recipe is in my thread, exactly the same way I make mine.

As always, if you need help with it or finding different products I am always here to help.

No problem!
I like to do things the easy way (somebody ells does all the work) :stight:
