Grow Mediums Drip feeding

Hey guys an gals..got a question..
So was thinking about gittn into the blumat thing and was wondering about runoff..plan is to hand feed FN grow for the first 3 weeks or so and then drip maxibloom to finish with H&G drip clean..question is do i need to water to runoff?

Hey lowdown - Sorry for the super late reply! We've got very little coco cover at the mo!

I've never used drippers, but am pretty sure that you don't watter to run off! I think the game to get the best out of a drip feed grow is to have them going up to 4 times a day for short periods that will force you plant to eat up 4 times a day.

There's a thread in here somewhere (i'll try and find it) about watering coco - i think the concensus is that (dialled in) drip feeding multiple times a day will get best results.

@BigSm0 is using blumats. I think he grows in coco not 100% on that though.

I'm living the ever living shyt out of the blumats. I went a little nuts with the setup and its extra effort and money is paying off big time. I went from 20-25 gallons every other day to 10-15 gallons a week. I do not water till runoff. I did add in distrubution drippers which I do not like. It's a whole new level of fine tuning that's a pain in the rear. What I do is flip the lead from one side to the other every few days. That way the roots don't clump up as much.

The big res timer fills this bucket 6 times a day. The bucket has a 1/2" in and 3/4" over flow out so it won't over fill and this also keeps things well mixed.

sorry dude I'm getting no notifications off tapatalk I ran a home made dripper system for a while but I only watered to runoff at the end of a res before I refilled it just to combat salt build up (but I now use autopots that bottom feed) if your worried about leaks get yourself a flexible garland tray I run a 4x4 and it fits in perfect any overwatering I just pump it out with a hand pump(me and electronic timers don't like each other :smokingor you can get individual smaller trays always handy for preventing leaks but what I understand about blumats is its to do with water pressure when the pots well watered they stop I think @Sensi Jay has started using them if you need any help gis a shout (if fecking tapatalk notifies me)

Exactly Wiles, ol buddy ol pal! If mediums wet it won't allow moisture through the cone. I'm well impressed with them, just set it and leave it like autopots but on smaller scale.
