First grow, germinating now. Setup is DWC with clay pellets in 6" pots. Just fashioned the drip rings for the 2 pots and wondering how much water how often. Have seen everything from 24/7 to 5 minutes/3x per day. Tryin to get a feel for how pellets work. Seedlings are in Rapid Rooters and I'll be following Sensi recipe for General Hydro Flora nutes.

Figure the pellet wicking will keep Rapid Rooter moist, but also read that, at least for soil, dry periods are good. Leaning toward the 5 min/3x per day schedule as flow is about a quart every 5 mins.
There are many correct method for dealing with RapidRooters.
The instructions say to keep them moist by placing them in a small container with 1/4 inch water in the bottom.
Your drip ring can do that if it's far enough away from the RRs, and doesn't keep them soaked.
If that's the case, then I'd leave the drip on 24/7 from seed to harvest, which is what I do after the first few days.
The drip rings aerate the water and keep the reservoirs well mixed.
How well the RapidRooters work depends on temperature and planting depth.
I lost a couple seeds recently from planting them in the too-deep RR holes and low temp.
I was testing the procedure of planting the seeds directly into RR already in top feed dwc with full lights and full nutes, but no top feed, until roots hit the reservoir.
Only 6/8 sprouted before I lost patience after a few days and replaced the failed 2.
A friend grows in an Aerogarden, and follows its planting instructions.
She drops seeds into RR-type aerogarden things without covering the hole, then puts a transparent covering over the RRs to keep humidity high under full lights and full nutes.
So far she's 4/4.
Next time I'll start seeds away from the hydro system, shallower and warmer, then put them in it under reduced nutes and full lights, at the first signs of life.
