Duggys soil mix

Hi Duggy. I live in the arse end off nowhere and I've struggled to find a lot of the ingredients for most the tlo recipes I've read. Yours is one I could actually manage to produce.
What's your reasoning to recut your original mix with more ingredients?

Hi GMan..the mix lacks in Potassium so I need to increase and time will tell if anything else needs improvement so it remains a work in progress...

Finished mixing up soil blend as follows..
15L Perlite
12L TLO Compost (from start of thread)
9L Enriched Compost (40% fish)
6L Coco
6L Earth Worm Compost
1/2 cup Calcified Seaweed
1/4 cup Lime
Mixed and mixed...made up some tea with EWC, Molasses and a few dry bunny droppings from the garden to moisten with tomorrow and let sit until needed in around 2 weeks.

Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions, struggling to get my head around tlo.
Was the above done just to add potassium?

More of an overall addition and mixing in perlite for potting up rather than K which I hope to correct in my remaining TLO shortly.

Grow now 20 days in and no issues to report. Plain water only. Lets hope it remains this easy. Always got some Mg def around 2 weeks in with coco so life is good in TLO...:Sharing One:

life is good in TLO...

It sure is. I almost feel like I'm cheating or something. It's a bit of a mystery to me why more people don't try it. But it does seem to be on the rise. It seems there are many more trying it now compared to this time last year.

I think the method will work well with the Autopots with only plain water...and I can spend my time watching the plants rather than mixing nutes...fingers crossed..:Sharing One:

With my first TLO grow complete some issues were apparent. Only 25% of the final pot mix was TLO... once perlite etc had been added. This time around the TLO component will be 60% . The TLO has also been further amended with 2 cups EWC, 2 cups Kelp, 1 cup Calcified Seaweed, 1 cup basalt dust and 1/2 cup of lime.
During the first grow the plants began to yellow once flowering..likely insufficient nutrition available...around day 35... some additional deficincies also showed..cal/mag/P/K but pH testing of slurry gave results between 6.3 and 6.6 so its hard to correct..think an accurate 8 might be needed..
Regardless some fine stinky frosty and tasty bud was harvested...albeit with rough foliage..
The much stronger mix should not only provide more longer term nutrients but provide better buffering too..
It did make for an easy grow..with a tank full of water I didnt need to do much so if I can get the mix right I could literally fill my water tank and sit back and relax..that would make life easier with my wife too as I would be spending less time with my green girls..:Sharing One: Should be underway within a week..
