Greetings everyone!

I read a few grow journals on the site and felt like starting one of my own. I have been growing weed for about 6 years, my first few grows were done with autoflowering strains, but I steered away from them and into the photo genetics. Lately I've re-gained my interest in autos, the genetics have really come a long way since the Lowryders I started with.

This grow journal will not be all that specific, mostly because I don't keep track of the flowering days. I just let the plants do their thing and harvest them when they seem ripe, this style of growing has served me well and I hope the lack of detailed information doesn't bother anyone.

I have 4 autoflowering strains in 3 liters of coco in self-watering pots. The strains are Dutch Passion AutoXtreme and Auto Blueberry, and Sweet Seeds Red Poison and Black Cream. Unfortunately I messed up the labels and have no clue which is which. I think I might be able to recognize them once they've flowered for a while. I also have 3 self-made Spyder seeds germinating, if I get a male I might pollinate the DP and SS strains.

I will be handwatering the plants daily using h3ad's formula (a modified lucas formula), the ratios will change slightly depending on the plants needs, I also tend to keep them slightly lower than recommended.

I'll update this journal every now and then, hope you enjoy. Oh and constructive criticism is always welcome, if you feel I'm doing something horribly wrong, please chime in.

My setup is:

Secret Jardin DP90 90x60x90cm
80w LED-panel (Hans) and 4x55w PL-L fixture (6500K)
3 liters of coco in self-watering pots
AN Jungle Juice Micro and Bloom
Two 120mm computer fans, 1 for intake and 1 for extraction (228 m³/h / 133,60CFM). Not sure about the intake fans specs.
ONA Block for odor control.

This is what the plants look like as of right now. They're about two weeks old, I've been watering them about 2.5dl per plant daily for about a week, not enough obviously as there's not enough run off. Going to run more water through the coco with milder nutrients tommorow, there's probably salt buildup already. The smallest plant in the back left is a couple of days younger than the rest, it couldn't handle the watering schedule at first so it's a bit behind the others. I'm using 1.6ml of Micro and 2.4ml of Bloom per about 1.2 liters of water.

Oh and moderators, if this journal is in the wrong forum section, please feel free to change it's location.

Nice line-up....

You are going to have some great smoke in a couple months :)

Welcome!

Lookong great psyphish!! Out of those I've grown out the black cream and she is the darkest purp ive ever seen.. you're gonna love her. Heard nothing but great things from the other strains too nice lineup!!

Thanks everyone for the comments!

The two plants on the right have shown purple in their calyxes. the front right plant has been lime green since the beginning, I'm starting to think it's just a genetic trait, as the plant seems healthy. The smallest plant is a pathetic runt and all new growth has been weird looking, I'm thinking it's the auto blueberry. Overall I'm a bit dissapointed, my previous autos were about the same size even though they had 2 liters less of root space. I have two Spyders in 1 liter juice cartons again, I'm hoping they do better than the "main plants".

The plants are getting 0.5 liters of water every morning. 1.6ml of Micro and 2.4ml of Bloom per liter. Also adding AN B-52 every now and then at 2ml / liter.

[EDIT]

I flushed the "runt" with 5.6 pH mild nutrient solution, the leaves were wrinkly so I figured there must be a pH problem. I also did some LST on the girls, they're surprisingly bushy. The purple Sweet Seeds strain on the front right really shows it's Pakistani kush roots, I have an CBG Pakistani Chitral Kush flowering right now and it has a very similar structure.

I moved the Spyders to the middle of the larger plants, I felt they weren't getting enough of the LED's light.

The plants have stopped stretching, finally. Even the runt is starting to push out stigmas, I think it'll produce enough bud to be worth keeping. I changed one of the 6500K PL-L bulbs to a 2100K "agro" bulb, probably not going to make a huge difference. I'm gonna ask someone to smell the plants soon so I can describe them here, don't have much of a sense of smell anymore.

I took the Spyder seedlings out, there simply wasn't enough space for more than 4 plants in the tent. I also had to get rid of 4 sativa seedlings I had vegging in there, RIPs.

[edit] Oh yeah, the two plants on the front changed places. I don't think a lot of people visit the coco subforum?

I moved the shortest plants under the LED and the tallest plant (shortest plant in previous update) under the PL-Ls, figured the short plants would benefit more from the LED, because the different wavelenghts mix better. The PL-Ls don't seem like very good flowering lights, the buds are tiny and airy, not entirely convinced with the Hans panel either, my main tent uses a 315w CMH and the buds are solid and frosty. Either way, I'm going to get some weed from this small tent.
